The Baron did his usual wonderful job with the ceremony, making it lovely and well-suited to the two of you.  The reception was a load of fun with lots of laughing and chatting and good food and music.  Seeing you two glow with happiness only topped things off with, dare I say, magic!

Thank you for allowing me to be there to share this special time with you both.  Shado asked me to apologize profusely for not getting over to the reception.  He had a cast obligation immediately after the ceremony and then got caught up in things and didn't make it back to the pavilion.

Can't wait to celebrate with you again in 40 more years! :)

I am not an employee of Scarborough Faire and to not represent them in any way.

All the best people were there. Lots of fun. Thanks to Merlin for the invitation.

Thank you for giving us the privileged of sharing your special weekend with you.  The Captain has consoled himself to the fact that you are happy in the arms of the wonderful man of your choice.  And we both wish you very happy in the next 40+ years together.  Then we can do this all over again. Video to come.

Love to you Both

Trust me... the honour was ours. I cannot express how special it was for us to have you all there. Thank you is not enough to show our gratitude.

Wow. When I came back to this thread, I didn't realize that I had started it so long ago... Nov 2010. But I did want to update things...

I still have a lot to do, but it's going to happen. I have sent numerous invitations out, and have gotten responses from most. While there are a lot of people here I would like to invite, I had to keep it to a manageable number because I also have family and mundane friends that are coming, so please don't be offended if you have not heard from me via PM. Shortly, I'm going to post the list of the people I've heard from who are planning on attending.

Quite frankly, I'm humbled by the response I've received. Since that initial post in 2010, we've come to know so many of you face-to-face. At this moment, I cannot think of a better way to celebrate 40 years of marriage, and 45 years of being together.

So, on April 14, at 10:30, in the Wedding Garden of Scarborough Renaissance Faire, Nimue and I will have a Vow RenNewal. The Lord Mayor of the village will be "doing the honours." We hope to provide an entertaining event...

The management of Scarborough has been very good about the tweaks and changes Nim and I wanted. I just wish Berit was still in the area to come celebrate with us.

This is a shameless thread hijack and case of plagiarism. Merlin so graciously took the time to be eloquent, and well, i'm sort of pooped at the moment. So, without further adieu:

<bagpipes blaring> (no sissy harp here...  :D)

On Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 10:30 AM, my trusty Sidekick and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at Scarborough. And, just like Merlin and Nimue, it so very painful that we cannot invite every single one of you to the reception. We also have just a ton of mundanes coming (more than I expected, honestly!), who hopefully will get bitten by the Faire bug and become regulars.

The ceremony at 10:30 AM is open to all and I hope if you are not otherwise occupied that you would honor us with your attendance.

We will also be staying at the Hampton Inn the entirety of closing weekend and enjoying ourselves extensively in Row 12 for the morning tailgate. We've also purchased tickets for Flynn's Favorites at the Wine Tasting that Saturday at 3PM. We haven't told our mundanes that yet, shhh! Plus, we've asked Flynn to officiate for us, so it should be an entertaining ceremony and Wine Tasting. Our friends at Castle Canine Creations are working on similarly entertaining handfasting portion of the ceremony, Lady Kathleen of Olmstead has been tirelessly churning out our attire, and the folks at St Aubyn's Jewelry and Sapphire & Sage have been working on suitably sparkly adornments for us.

And now, the reason I am so pooped...my trusty Sidekick had a stroke two weeks ago, the Monday following his birthday (4/15) and a rather exciting weekend at Scarby. So after what was such a marvelously wonderful weekend our lives have been turned upside down a bit. But the wonderful news is that after a week in the hospital and a week in inpatient rehab, he's now a free man again and will start outpatient rehab next week. A full recovery expected, it will just take time. And the doctors assure us it wasn't caused by Faire, birthday wenchy kisses of naughtiness, or Merlin and Nim's celebration.

Soooo, if you happened to notice some stray comments between Merlin Sr and I regarding vow renewals and the gentlemanly half of the pair's health, and comments about missing last weekend and coming this Saturday in mundanes, and noticed that I'm pooped...that is why.

We will also shamelessly collect hugs at any time, because we've missed y'all and Scarby on Saturday is his reward for "graduating" from i/p rehab.

Much love to all of you!
