What are the prices like at TRF.  Like drinks (alcoholic:), food, clothing, and hats.  I am going for the first time and I am beyond excited.  I have been wanting to go for years and have never had the chance.  I am just curious what to budget for it. Thanks

Think disneyland pricing is the best way I know to describe it all

Well, don't take your flask in and get caught... places that sell booze don't allow outside booze. Though it may be common, just don't get caught.  Coolers in the parking lot are fine, but just use caution with any driving and drinking.  The ratio of accidents around the faire often seems higher than anywhere else, and the cops have instigated a "no refusal" policy on breathalizers.

That said, not everyone drinks.

As for prices, yes, Disneyland or State Faire prices.  Be prepared to spend between $25 and $50 per person in food if you eat all day at Faire.  Many who want to save money have a big breakfast before arriving, then a fun lunch, with perhaps a snack there.  I love the alligator tail - $5 or $6.  Cheese bread is good - but $2 or $3 depending on which kitchen.  Drinks may be $3 this year for a 20oz bottle. In truth an "entree" and drink will usually run you $9 per person.

There are foods there for every taste, though!

My drink of choice is soda (yes, I know, I'm a horrible wench) and they start to add up at $2.50 a pop (sorry, couldn't help myself)  Most food items run $5-$7/$8ish depending on where and what you get.  Clothing, etc. is all over the place.  To get an idea of what you might want to budget for, visit the TRF website and look at the list of vendors.  A lot of them have websites you can look at to get an idea of their pricing (but expect the prices to be a bit higher at faire).

Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone, the disneyland pricing idea really scared me but an entree and a drink for 9 does not sound that bad.  I remember going to disneyworld and there prices would have been double that, maybe even triple.  They have outrageous pricing.  I like soda too so I guess maybe I will bring an ice chest for the car with snacks and sodas.  I don't want to get really drunk I just want to have a few at an authentic tavern in costume. ;D

The most expensive entree's I have see were the $11 combo platter at the polish area , which btw is worth it for a VERY filling meal.  The pink pirate and I shared it and it was enough for each of us.  The other was the $12 kabab platter in the greek area.  It was $9 for just the kababs, so the extra 3 for the rice, and salad wasn't that big of jump.

But year expect $6-9 per person for food and another 3 for drink, per meal.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Domestic beer is $4.50 for 16oz.  Miller and Coors are sponsoring this year hence no Budweiser products.  I believe wine is $5-$6 for around 12oz.  Sometimes we have a cooler in the car so that we can have sandwiches for lunch. The Royal Harmburg in the German area is only $6 and is HUGE and very filling.
