Breakfast - Walk right in staying to your right the first food booth you see get a Scotch Egg, the line for them can get long quick.  After you get your egg if you're a coffee drink go right across the lane to get some really good coffee.

Lunch - Prime Rib Trencher @ the POW (Prince of Wales Pub) About $13 but it'll feed 2.  Think cut prime rib on a hoagie with fries.  Or get the fish 'n chips a bit cheaper but it'll feed two as well...unless you eat a lot.

Dinner -Any of the other above suggestions...unless your camping then hook up with a group out there.

That is one of my suggestions to you if you want to have some fun after the faire closes.  Park on the camping side not the main entrance side.  The parking is usually better and after the faire closes you can hang out for a bit until the traffic dies down...which is usually an hour or two after the faire closes.

The show that Lady Stitch suggested are mine as well...especially Sound and Fury!

If you like mead may I suggest you try Thorin's mead when your here...please avoid the Chaucer's.  A bit higher in alcohol content but not as sweet as the Chaucer's so you'll want to pace yourself.  ;)

One thing I have noticed for me is that I spend so much time walking around I am hungry all the time lol!  You can definitely work up an appetite walking the grounds.  Plus there are so many food choices it's hard to not want to try everything.  Keep hydrated like everyone is saying.

Get there early! Get into the parking lot by 8:15- 8:30 AM. you can get a good space and take in the gate show. The traffic can get pretty bad after 9 or so.

You can't go wrong with any of the food choices mentioned here, the only problem is there are so many!

If you are coming all the way from Ohio the food I would suggest is the French section. You can try stuff there that you aren't as likely to see up there like crawfish, gator and etouffe' just to name a few.
Texas in that area is not arid at all. About half the state (and it's a big 'un) is pretty rainy and the other half (where I live) is in the midst of the worst drought in years. Houston and eastward are getting into the swampy land like Louisiana. Humid doesn't begin to describe it. I had a good friend of mine when I lived on that side of the state who was from Ohio. She almost never left her house outside of our two weeks of winter. Just to hot/humid.
I just want to make the point that if you aren't used to our weather be careful. Drink A LOT of water. Go easy on the heavy drinking until you come out to visit us all in the campgrounds after faire.

I always set up right across the gravel road from Thorin in the campground. He is one of the few folks to come over and hang out with us for a bit.  I tried some last year, that and some stouts he had. Pretty good stuff.

If you're looking for something a bit lighter, you can't beat the fruit and cheese platters you can find around the grounds.... and the frozen Sangria is wonderful!!!  Also don't forget the bakery for a sweet treat before you leave in the evening!  It's the perfect way to round off the day...

...what? I'm just sayin', kill two birds with one stone- feed guests, get rid of ravers. Don't look at me like that, its not cannibalism... they're ravers, not the same species :D

The Giant German Burger is really good and filling, and could be shared by 2 people if you also get an appetizer or dessert.

There are also Sweet Potato Curly Fries in the French area.  Mmmm...

Someone mentioned last season that there's a booth somewhere that has baked Sweet Potatoes.  I looked for it, but didn't find it.
