Between the Scarby management types, the TRF management types and the Sherwood manager types all being on the forums... I am seriously proud of this forum
Shows that the big shots at all three care about what us regulars think.

*A rum toast to them all!*

With Sherwood, it's not just a manager, it's the actual Owner/Instigator himself who posts on the Forums.

I don't actively follow the threads for Faires outside of Texas, so now I'm wondering how many have Owners/Managers posting?

Take Care,
David Baldock

I got my pass and I few tickets to give as gifts. Now i just need to start working on my grab....

You boys in Kilts better watch your...... ;D

As far as I can tell, there are more owners here than that. But if they do not proclaim themselves outright, it is no worry to me. Serves two purposes, at least IMO. They can get open and outright feedback and it keeps them from loads of direct in their face feedback.  ;)

Yeah, LD...I wonder how these ladies would feel about us working on our grab? I don't wear a kilt, and it's been centuries since I had to worry about a lady grabbing me...

I'm almost with Teach—I'll toast with Jack Daniel's, if you don't mind.  But you're right, LD, in that some of the feedback is "in-the-face." We have a tendency to voice complaints quite easily, but don't always voice the thanks when deserved.

When I worked in retail, I made it a point to know my customers by name. That's not difficult in a small boutique business. But this year, I had management and/or staff from 2 faires greet me by (forum) name. Mike Pullen at Sherwood, and someone at Scarby that someone else told me was Coy Sevier. Considering the size of their customer base, and this forum, I was bloody well impressed.  The owner of the Oklahoma Ren Fest in Muskogee greeted me as well, and it's my understanding from Archer that he likes to greet his visitors personally. It may be an ego thing, but I like being recognized, and it makes me come back. That's why I made it a point to know my customers by name...

Texas does appear to be unusually well-blessed with management that actually cares, and Oklahoma as well.

Well, I already knew it but I'll say it again just in case anybody else doesn't-

Our Texas faires freakin' rock. I've got friends from all over the US that are jealous.
And ya know what, I'm proud of the fact that they are.

This year will be a bit leaner for me. I am planning on hitting more Cons than faires this year so as of right now, Opening and Pirate are the only two weekends I will try to make. Who knows what else at this point...

...that being said, I am planning on bringing my Mom Opening Weekend...in garb. That means everybody needs to be nice and behave themselves. (I'm looking at you, Fraser...)
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

angusmacinnes

being nice is one thing but behaving ourselves well that is another now isn't it. LMAO.
There are many places where compromise is expected;
LOYALTY is not amongst them.

Careful, Elo...Angus and I may decide to sit around making rude body noises as you escort your mother past us...

I don't understand part of Meggers post.
What is a "behave" and how does one do that to themself?

*Does it involve rum?*

Not sure.  But I am still looking for the group shower, and I am sure that does involve rum.   ;D

I think you'll find that they are quite popular in the prison system, Glaodian.
