It's too quiet in here. Sure, I like to sit and talk with the trees, but I also like to talk with my fellow elves as well, so I thought I would try to get some conversation going.

This time of year everyone talks about Santa, but his "elves" don't get much of a mention. Do they really enjoy making toys, or is that just spin? Are they really elves in the first place, or some sort of related fae? Elves are tall and noble and have a thing for trees (to be very general). Santa's elves are very small, goofy, and like to spend all their time making toys. That sounds much more like some sort of fairy to me. Perhaps the confusion came about in the Victorian era, when all fae got lumped together into one hybrid creature that went by "elf," "fairy," "brownie," etc equally?
Discuss.
