Midsummer Exchange

Okay, Lady Catherine and Ginette, we have to take care of you two!  I will find out today what is going on and make sure that gifts were just delayed.  I didn't post this here, but I did have FIVE people this time who were behind, BUT, they all did email me and let me know (thank you thank you thank you!!!).  I don't have the list of exchange names here with me, but I will check as soon as I get home and see what the deal-y-o is.

Don't feel bad Lady Catherine, I haven't ether.      But it sure was fun to buy for Dino and get to know her better, other wise I don't think I would have gotten to know her or at least so well. 

It was a lot of fun to search for just the right gifts, and you do get to know the people you send to and receive from better!

It was lots of fun shopping for the gifts that I gave. Brings me great pleasure doing it.
Very sorry to hear that you ladies still have not received your gifts as of yet. I hope that they come soon.

This sort of thing tends to put a sour taste in people's mouths so I hope that it gets sorted out soon and the "slackers" "get in gear".

Damn! This is just awful! I feel bad that you two, did not recieve anything from the exchange.
I do it because it is fun, but when this happens it just isn't right.

GINETTE I CAN EXPLAIN: here is what happened on my end, as soon as i saw the thread for this exchange i posted my profile and sent my information to heather and waited waited waited waited and never heard anything so i sent her the message below dated Friday may 22ND and never heard anything back so i checked my mail and concluded that the RF exchange which is mainly for letters must be my gift exchange name so i sent her a gift package (although i must admit that i never heard from her either) then on Thursday July 2ND i received these two correspondences from heather and she said that since the miss communication was due to her hotmail issues and i had already sent a gift to someone she would take care of yours i am so sorry and i will send you something in the future when i have the opportunity to read your profile and send you something to hopefully help you to forgive me for not questioning not receiving a name more often.

I think I am having hotmail issues.  I responded to this with your person, but she said she hasn't gotten anything, so I am wondering if you even got that email?  I had a lot of email issues this time around, I am going to change my settings on R/F to my yahoo email.  

If you did not get it, would you like her name or is it too late?  If it is too late, that is totally cool, I can get something out to her, and I apologize that you didn't get my email.  If you DID get it, and just can't get something out to her, just let me know!

Wildthing don't worry about a thing!    I had a blast with the exchange and getting to know everyone.  Not many places can you send someone you barely know gifts based off a 10 question survey.

Despite the lack of evidence on here, I believe that these two gals are taken care of.  I know for sure Ginette is, and am crossing my fingers we see evidence of it today or tomorrow.  I have no reason to doubt Lady Catherine's sender as she has done this exchange every single time before, and so her package should be on its way as well.

I don't know for sure if I will be doing the Midwinter Exchange, I was kind of hurt by one post on here and a few I received in my personal box, and I certainly don't need the hassle for something that I volunteer to do because I love giving presents.  So we'll see.

That would be a bummer, for sure! I took part in the last Midwinter Exchange and it was loads of fun, and was looking forward to the next one. This time around I wasn't sure if I could even spare the postage to send a hand-made gift, so I didn't play.

It's unfortunate that someone would make hurtful remarks when you're only organizing this to spread a little fun & happiness around!

Rengeek I had a great time no matter the miscommunication.  You did a great job even with the issues that were out of your control.  I am now very proud to call you my friend!    If we ever meet in person I owe you a drink of your choosing.

Some people will complain about ANYTHING!

I was teaching a college Geology course and I was given NOTHING to prepare for teaching.  I had to make it all up on my own.  I had a student that complained about extra credit work I offered the class.  They were learning about dinosaurs so I used coloring pages to illustrate.  I said they could color the dinosaurs (realistically, of course) for extra credit.  She "threatened" to go the the head of the department!  I said, "Let me show you where the office is"!  Needless to say she dropped it, especially since the class started to make fun of her!

I'm just glad things were resolved and REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope that we can have a midwinter exchange.  This was SOOO much fun!
