Highland Fling weekend carries the curse of the scottish play. That's where all the bad things of the season concentrate. It's when performers get injured, things burn, and all kinds of accidents and mayhem take place.
That is the one weekend I missed last year. I caught the TRF plague! Alas! Sending magical vibes that you find a great job Z!
Wingardium Leviosa!
Tis not the length of the staff- but the magick there in!

I'll be there the full opening weekend.  W00t!

Looking forward to shootseeing you all again!  ;D

Shooting for Pirates weekend and Celtic Christmas... Want to camp pirates weekend but that is still on the burner, for Celtic Christmas it will only be a day trip with a possible extended stay.

Myself and my boyfriend Durgrim are planning to attend opening weekend, Halloween weekend, and the weekend before Halloween.

We plan to camp with the Drunken Gnomes.

You have a valid point! We'll be with the 'main' Gnome camp, up on row 3. ;D

Looks like we'll be daytripping Sunday of opening weekend with the entire family in tow and I plan to be winged.  There is a possibility of another "adults only" Sunday trip, but unknown when at this point.  We're all fighting with the money faerie at the moment. :P
Got faerie dust?

Who: Me and my boyfriend, neither of which have posted here before, so suffice to say "two people no one knows yet"

When: Opening weekend, Oct 10-11!

Where: Well now, that's the question, isn't it? Camping for sure...

We're both musicians and last year while camping we created a couple impromptu drum/dance circles that were an absolute BLAST! Problem is, we don't know anyone, and it's tough to just walk up to groups and ask if we can play... so we'd love a group to welcome us. We're laid back, early 30s, into the Renfair without being hardcore (although I'm never on Renfair grounds without my costume!), and we come with drums and plenty of things to shake and rattle. :)

This will also be a rare kid-free weekend for us, so we are ready to let go and let it all hang out! Okay, not completely, but we're definitely *not* looking for a quiet family-friendly time here. :)

Anyone with any suggestions?

I would like to suggest camping with Phoenix Risen Cynthe!
If you'd like to play I am sure we would love to hear it.

I second camping with Phoenix Risen!  I am a huge fan of drums, especially.  Depending on the beat they can make me want to get up and dance or soothe me right to sleep .  .  .

And if you'll be there for All Hallow's, I'll also have all 3 of my smallish djembe's with me, plus a didge (not accacia, unfortunately, but still made by me...), various shakers, rattles and noise makers... and I'll be camped adjacent to Phoenix Risen, so I'm positive there will be lots of mingling and such!!!  ;)

Cynthe

Thanks so much - I went ahead and signed up over at Phoenix Risen!

I doubt we'll be there Halloween weekend, but we're definitely going to be doing another weekend at some point, that time with a 9-year old as well... so we have to get all the debauchery out of our system now. :)

Rani Zemirah

Well, darn... I was hoping to have other drummers in camp, and that's the only weekend I'll be able to make it down there...   :-\

Changes on my schedule.  Lawrence is going to out of town Opening Weekend, so I'm taking his ticket and coming out both days.

We're both going to be there (well, our evil twins will) for Pirate Weekend.

I THINK I'm going to make one day of every other weekend except 2nd.

Closing Weekend, we'll be out on Friday.

All will be daytrips (despite now having an hour+ drive).

If things change and you can make it out on All Hallows, head over to Phoenix Risin for sure!! We're having a spectacular blow out, and even a costume contest for the kids (Thanks to our wonderful leaders for such great ideas!).  We have 5 kids- ages 2,4,6,8, and 10, so yours would have plenty of playmates.  If you don't make it then, we'll look forward to seeing you another weekend.  I know we're going to have TWO wonderful kid-free Saturdays (Pirate and  ???), and I plan on heading over to PR camp for fun time.
