I also have a few of opening weekend at St. Louis, though didn't have the chance to get out the camera much.  Trying to help out a friend at his booth, so my hands were otherwise occupied!

If you click on sets, you can find pictures of previous faires on my page.

Where the heck were you at?  I looked then gave up thinking you hadn't come.

I saw you about 5 times, all from WAAAAAAY across the grounds, and then when I got up there, you would be GONE.  Sad
We were there both days, but we left the booth early Sunday to make the drive back and get the kids ready for school, etc.

I was in the parade Sunday, and walked right by you standing at the pub, and said "CLISTO!  HEY CLISTO!  HEY JOHN!!"  But alas, you did not hear.  Wink

Finally made it to faire on Sunday. Missed most of the rain, but you could hear the sound of distant pirate cannon fire.
My unedited and reduced size pictures are all posted here: http://news.webshots.com/album/563588342rAMBwZ?vhost=news
In a few days or less I should have full sized pictures posted, once I've done editing through all of them. They will be posted here: http://www.pbase.com/lordmalcolm/gslrf2 (DONE)

Sorry we couldn't see you the first weekend Malcolm!  Sad  Glad you got out of there before the floods that evening.  Apparently there were even fish flopping around in the parking lot!

You're glad I got out in time? I was parked right next to the creek! My car isn't equiped for the high seas.

I just got home from this weekend. I'm sort of adopted cast, so Monday I went out and helped clean up around site. Wow. Scot's area was completely flooded and the main bridge was at an angle. They got that set right and some of the fencing repaired. One booth (close to the Scot's Dragon) was completely washed away. The upper pedestrian bridge into front gate had water running over it during Sunday night (I was staying with the guy in charge of the camp site, so I got to hear all about it). There's been a lot of support from performers wanting to hold a benefit concert and local groups helping to get site back together for this weekend.

And here's a picture Lord Malcolm took of me. http://www.pbase.com/lordmalcolm/image/97737344

Here are a few pictures of the flooding on Memorial Day weekend ...

http://www.hiltonhandcraft.com/images/ren/gstlrf08/

We were camping in our booth (higher ground, fortunately) and made several trips down the hill that night to check on things.  Unable to leave the site on Monday morning because of the flooding and only 2 low-water bridges as exits, we made ourselves useful and helped the flooded-out merchants find / salvage what we could.  A little after noon, we were told that we could "try" getting out by way of the up-stream exit because of our large 4x4 truck so we took the opportunity.  With weather reports coming in of another storm and just as much rain in a couple of hours, we thought this might be our only chance to leave site this week.  We live 4 hours away and needed to get back to re-group, dry out and make more furniture.

We'll be back up there on Friday night again ... ready for a great weekend and looking forward to seeing friends, customers, performers, "Mike the donkey" of the petting zoo and all of the shady characters (Yes, that includes you, Ferret  Wink  ) of Petit Lyon.
