Opening is on the 27th?  Correct?  Unless there is a math that is specific to faire count downs, I'd say we're looking at 10 days, if you don't count today.

Heck the campground doesn't even open until Friday  ;D

Let's see, how about breaking out some rennie math
Opens on the 27th, so dont count that day
Don't count today.
Don't count friday because we will be in camp that day.
By my calculations we only have 7 days!

*7 Days until relaxing with my rum in camp... I am good with that*

Not to step on anyone's toes, but the Real OFFICIAL COUNTDOWN is actually on the Front Page of the Sherwood Forest Faire Web Site.   ;)   ;D

True, but that isn't as much fun relative as quips here. =)

I reject the sites countdown as it does not take into account the many ways countdowns may be done.
I mean really... an actual, accurate countdown? ("I reject your reality and subsitute my own")
How does it compensate for the important things such as the day you leave, skipping the day your on, possible time vortexes, fairy magic and other possible time shifting logics?
Time from the site today claims 7 days and 16 hour.
My time... 6 days!
See, by applying rennie time to a standard timer I shaved a full day and 16 hours of the time when faire starts for me!
Time is relative, faire time is flat out bent.

*Rum time is whenever there is rum nearby and generally runs pretty happily*

LOL, I love it.  Ren math.

So what if we count days as a cycle of sunset and sunrise?  Specifically starting at sunset, thus the "day" begins with fun nocturnal activities not the drudgery of work (for us day-shifters).  Assuming we are not counting today (sundown 2/19 through sundown 2/20), there would be five full days listed below:

Sundown 2/20
Sundown 2/21
Sundown 2/22
Sundown 2/23
Sundown 2/24

We would not count the Sundown of 2/25 because I will be at the faire campgrounds before sundown of 2/26 and I'm discounting the day of arrival.

Therefore by my math, we have only 5 days.

Now, I'm further going to reduce the countdown because I'm going out to volunteer at the grounds tomorrow.  Although the countdown doesn't culminate with tomorrow, I choose apply credit for that time against the countdown, since I will be at faire.  Since tomorrow, during the day is already credited because I do not count "today" which ends at sunset tomorrow.  I will credit only a single day for the Sundown 2/20 through sundown 2/21, since I will likely stay for the bonfire past sundown.

This puts my count at 4 days.  And that's before the rum.

P.S. Only 12 more shopping days before Christmas - I'll explain later.

It's the 21st today, so I say 5 days  ???

On another note, If you are going to the faire down 290 from the Houston area, make sure your vehical is legal and be mindfull as you go through Giddings, or indeed all of Lee County, as they have a large concentration of enthusiastic law inforcement.

Yes it is, I don't know how many times I've ridden or driven though Giddings over the years, a lot, but I bet I've been pulled over 60% of the time!

I don't think I've ever been lit up for actually speeding or running lights etc. Just fishing expeditions for piddling stuff; No front plate, Loud exhaust on a stock bike, No helmet, "Illegal turn" when I was going straight through an intersection, Headlight off on bike,(when that was legal) Red car, etc...

These are called "Pretext Stops", using a minor traffic violation as a reason to stop a vehicle so they can look at your license and insurance, run your plate, check for warrants, look in your car and so forth.

That's how a lot of little towns raise revenue, so just be aware. When they start seeing a bunch of rennies heading through, they are gonna be looking for stuff to get ya' for.
