Things I have learned at Sherwood:

1:  Being as definite as possible with "wench" versus "winch".
2:  Turkey legs can be tossed in a cooler and be used for sandwiches later on.
3:  Sand is omnipresent.
4:  Claritin is an immense help.
5:  The puzzle how someone in a hoop skirt can fit into a standard size privy.  Sort of like folding space and time, or fitting a model train in a Coke bottle.
6:  If there were a zombie apocalypse, a renfaire would likely one of the safest places to be, due to the first rule of zombie combat:  blades do not need reloading.
7:  Pickle juice is a great pick-me-up.
8:  Faeries wear boots, and you gotta believe me.
9:  Ben Nye Remove-it-All is awesome stuff.  It even works on laundry.
10:  A checklist before heading to faire is a great help in preventing forgetting something important.

1) belief is a powerful tool
2) trusting in people is still worthwhiled
3) music soothes the soul
4) stone circles still have tremendous energy
5) fire circles gather folk of like mind
6) rennie-hippies are good folk
7) cold beer is best--semi-cool beer still tastes ok
8) family can be larger than our nuclear perspective
9) respect others and they will respect you
10) there are a lot more people who drop cigarette butts than i previously thought
11) we are part of nature--enjoy the connection...and don;t isolate or insulate yourself too much from it
12) spend some time just sitting, watching, feeling
13) take time to enjoy the moment--our moments on earth are limited--and sherwood is a fine place to spend many of them
14) embrace folk about you--their warmth will touch you in a million different ways
15) tears of joy and exhaustion merge to form streams that nurish the plants of sherwood
16) quiet time on the grounds, proper, is 1am--not 11pm--enjoy the nite life too!
it's all about the journey and the people we choose to make the journey with
