If you happen to be attending Scarborough Faire on May 23, 2010, please drop by Booth No. 37, The Book Faire.  The wonderful owner has graciously consented to having this old scurvy dog hanging around out front of his shop autographing copies of Raising Black Flags; Echoes From Other Worlds, and "A Night At Devil's Tavern."  Come say, "AHOY!"

Why do the authors I want to see and visit with always show up either the weekend before or the weekend after I plan to be at faire?
Sigh
If you happen to make Memorial Weekend as a second trip (just sayin') I would definitely be stoppin' by

*Perhaps even share a sip or two rum while there*

Teach,

If you miss him at Scarby, you can see him at my booth at TRF on Pirate Weekend.

Of Course.... another weekend I am not usually at faire!
sigh
I usually cannot make Pirate because it falls next to All Hallows Eve and I never miss AHE
Someday in the future I hope they decide to change up the schedule on that.

*My rum drinking pirate self has only seen pirate weekend once at TRF*

My recommendation is that you make any weekend you are there pirate weekend. Any time you are at a faire, it is pirate weekend. I intend to make my next faire excursion Lord Glycon weekend.

No one but me will know, but that's okay. It's MY weekend.  ;D

Drat!  I'll miss you by just a day...I can bring me cabin boy May 22, but real life intrudes on the 23rd  :-\

Hope you sell & sign a lot!

Many thanks for all the good wishes!  And, mates, there's a lot more life to live!  I'll see ye all someday down the road.

Now, back to "Blackbead Day"!

(Humorous Aside - Funny that ye mention the idea of having our own special day.  Harkens me back to me days in high school.  Someone came up with the idea of having a day for everyone and I said that on my day everyone would be required to come to school nude.  And that were the last of any discussion about having a "Steve Sanders" day!)

Yes; Joe, at The Book Faire, seemed to have an EXTENSIVE collection of back issues of "Renaissance" for sale.  Definitely go by and check out his stock!  The Book Faire is a FANTASTIC resource for Renaissance costuming.  They have some very decently priced books which will tell you all you need to know in order to create a completely accurate, very comfortable, and absolutely eye-catching garb!  Joe, the owner, is very knowledgeable about his stock and just sitting and listening to some of the conversations he had with his clientele made my visit incredible worthwhile.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say "ahoy" yesterday!  Captain Jasper and I had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the poetry from next door at "Arthur's Alley"!  If you desire to hear something wildly inappropriate, if you aren't easily offended, if you are over 18, and you are neither pregnant nor breastfeeding, then DEFINITLEY stop by "Arthur's Alley"!!  You will NOT be disappointed!
