Hey Scarbies! Can you help some fellow Rennies out?

Heyas all,

My lady and I are Ren Fest junkies from Minnesota.  We're very fortunate to have one of the best Faires in the entire country in our own backyard.  We work as ale slingers at one of the pubs and actually get paid to drink beer all day while serving draft brews to patrons, all while raising money for charity.

This is our crew from last season (we're the tall couple on the left):


Anyway, we've always heard great things about Scarborough Faire, and we were able to score cheap (read: free) plane tickets to Dallas, so we figured, what the heck? So, we did it! We'll be coming down for the weekend of May 14-15. HUZZAH!

Since we're trying to do this thing on the cheap (gotta save our hard-earned pounds for beer, food, and of course, more beer), we were wondering if any one of you could help us out a bit.  Our requests are thus:

1.  We're staying at the Sleep Inn in Waxahachie (egad, that's a hard one to spell!).  Can anyone tell us how far that is away from the Faire?  Is it within walking distance?  If not, would anyone be able to give us a ride to Faire in the mornings?

2.  Would anyone, out of the goodness of their hearts, consider giving us a ride on that Friday evening from the airport down to Waxahachie?  We could cross your palms with a wee bit of silver (say $20?).  More importantly, we would adore you and be your friend 'till the end of days.

Basically, if it's not already obvious, we're trying not to have to go through the hassle and expense of renting a car.  Seems kind of dumb to rent a car only to have it sit there all weekend while we're making merry at the Faire.  Especially when there are no doubt thousands of fellow Festers whom already making the same drive.

However, if we absolutely have to, we can rent a car.  I guess I'd like to know your opinion:  SHOULD we rent a car?  Are we nuts for trying to do this without one?  I humbly request your advice.

It is about 15min to Faire from Waxahachie so you Don't want to walk. And I would assume that you are flying in to D/FW airport and that's about 1 to 1-1/2 hrs for Waxahachie depending on traffic.  So a car is a must. Good luck finding a ride.  And Lady Natasha and I look forward to see you at Faire.
