How do you do you hair for faire?

Currently, I wear my hair twisted back and pinned into a bun underneath my escoffion and tall hat with my noble garb, and I wear it in looped up pigtail braids under a sort of giant cotton snood with my "milkmaid" look.

I have close to waist length thick hair with a slight wave/curl, I mostly always wear my hair down, the humidity will dictate how big it gets, ha! 

If it's really hot and humid my hair will get really curly so I will then usually pile it on top of my head and let it be a big poof of hair..

I am trying something new. I have been putting my hair up in a banana clip and then wearing the flat cap over that. It works pretty good when there's no hurricane.

Opening weekend, I spent the whole day on Saturday fighting with my snood to keep it upon my head, as it's not actually attached to a hat or other headpiece, and the barrette I was using was just not staying in my hair for some reason (they are from http://morganreed.net/ and generally do a GREAT job, but that day was NOT the day, apparently). Sunday I wore my feathered headband and just pulled my hair back into a loose ponytail.
Second weekend, I left it down in back with the feathered headband, but the wind did a real number on the back and combined with the sloppy ponytail I threw it into before I got in the shower to keep it from getting wet (and keeping me up later waiting for it it dry, since I try not to use a blow-dryer on it), then failed to take down before bed made for a HUGE knot when I woke up Sunday morning. Since then, I've been using one of my larger Morgan's Mane barrettes to pull it up and back loosely. I've no idea what I'll do this weekend, we'll just have to wait and see. I like the look of it down, all pulled back I think is too severe, and too many wispy bits around my face drive me crazy, so who knows!

I generally just let my hair be loose and wild. Occasionally ill do tiny French braids on either side with just the top part of my hair and tie them together at the back.

I have super short hair and for years covered it up with a scarf or hat.  Now I'm  just to lazy and wear it the same as I do in the "outside" world.  Altho last year I had one of the vendors bring in a feather headband/ring/garland thingie (lol any idea what I'm talking about?)  so now at least you won't notice my lack of hair so much due to all the feathers flying around!

Its going to be hot at the faire this weekend. I'm playing Nobility. I would normally wear my hair in a snood with my flat cap on top. I have about shoulder length hair. Is there a quick hair style I could do, and still wear my flat cap?

Sigh. I usually just leave my hair down. I would love to put it up but its hopeless, since it has a mind of its own.
The only way to control it would be to chop it all off and I have been tempted a time or two just to wear hair like a boy.
Iam envious of the many hair styles!!
