Pretty much all of the shoppes will be open (I think they have to be by contract?). A lot of places will have good deals that day too! The shoppe where many of us have gotten our rings usually have most of their stuff 50% of that day!

Yeah the first year Fest Friday was optional for crafters, but now they require us to be open. Even our game booth is a long dreadfully boring day as most of the kids don't bother to check us out.

That was it! We stopped by before going back to our friend Matt's house to see if he knew anyone, but alas he didn't.
  Bristol always had the Pig n Whistle open afterhours, but there were different always little gathering all over Biristol as well just like any small town. MAN I Miss FAIRE!

come to think of it i doubt Texas Hold'em or even Poker itself wouldt be historically correct. . .

for historical purposes, poker does not seem be the best game of choice(or chance).

Yeah the earliest written reference to Poker is about 1839, if I recall properly. How about we teach you a more period multi-player card game like Pope Joan?

Besides you'll have to play with the wife anyway. I'll have left about 4am for Lafayette, Indiana for Feast of the Hunters' Moon which competes with the last weekend of MNRF every couple of years.

Actually there's a very clear description of a 52 card deck by a German monk dating from the 1370's*, -although you are definitely correct in that there were quite a number of early games that were played with "short" decks using fewer cards.

*And contrary to popular belief Tarot cards started showing in Italy about about 60 years -after- standard cards.
