Last weekend was one of the best faire weekends I have ever had. It started with the coolest May weather I can recall, and no rain or mud! No allergy problems this week too!

We had 3 pipers and 3 drummers marching with the Scottish Regiment Saturday and 2 pipers and 3 drummers Sunday. I marched in the first row behind them. The sound boucning off the buildings made it sound like there was another row of drummers behind me.

The regiment received formal compliments from the casting director who relayed compliments from visiting cast directors of other faires and compliments from the Scottish Court. This has never happened before.

Also got parts of my new armour Saturday. Got lots of good comments from small boys and cast. Didn't make it 50 yards from the shop before I was stopped for a photo. That felt very good.

Sorry if this sounds like bragging. I just feel too good about it to not share.

I loved our Scottish sound system this weekend! And the kudos from the casting director (although we already know how awesome we are) were really nice to hear. I dont think the weather could have been much nicer, only thing that would have made it better was if the regiment had been over a hundred scots again. Most likely it was the best weekend of this season...but we still have 7 days more  ;)

Huzzah to the Regiment!
It was certainly a wonderful weekend for us...unseasonably cool and pleasant.

Sundays there is a church service in the wedding garden at 11:00. This Sunday was the best I have attended (I attend all of them). Father Bill has a very good Scottish accent. This Sunday both of the Scripture readers also had very good Scottish accents.

And Queen Margaret attended with some of her guards. We had the highest attendance yet for the services.

Everything seemed to go exceptionally well this weekend.

I walked around naked all day Sunday. It was a nice change of pace and patronized many shops.

When we were there for the Rendezvous, we didn't make the 11 o'clock service.  But we did attend a smaller service with some of the cast and merchants around 10:30 by the Celtic Cross in the meadow.  It was a beautiful service with readings and singing.  We really enjoyed it.  And we thank all those there who welcomed us to participate.

I realized way too late that we should have made the trip down. I'm watching the weather to see if May 22-23 will be survivable heat-wise...

We are having a cooler than usual spring so far. Which means better garb for me to look at.
