Oh my goodness guys!!! If you have yet to have the pleasure of meeting the photographer Dan Hammond that visits our faire you are gigantically missing out!
Not only is he a stellar photographer, he is a wonderful, caring and thoughtful person.

He comes to the faire and photographs just like any other photog, but he goes the extra mile for the fortunate few of us and turns our photographs into paintings! and not small paintings either. I'm talking two feet by one foot portraits. He somehow transforms the pictures into what look like paintings, prints them on actual canvas, stretches them over a frame then gives them to you FOR. FREE!

I am here, singing his praises because as I was making dinner this evening someone knocked on my door and when I answered it, it was a woman holding the tell-tale trash bag with the portrait of my daughter he had taken this weekend. Generally, you get your portrait opening day of the following season from which it was taken. I got not only the stretched canvas portrait of my daughter, but a matted and framed copy as well.
I don't know how I will ever thank him, but I wanted to share with you all how happy he just made me.

Here is his Flickr site...go check it out http://www.flickr.com/photos/dansdigitaldarkroom/

Truly Excellent Pictures.  Now, to those who questioned my remark about the Professor not showing up on film...

Nice of him to share his wonderful work.

Dan is indeed thoughtful, kind, and generous.  But let us not forget talented, for each of his "paintings" is a masterpiece.  The one he did of the Baroness is simply gorgeous, and one of her most prized possessions.

Speaking of Photogs, do you all have a photo thread listing the photographers who visit CRF and where they post their photos?

Blushing is an understatement... Thank you Lady Remi, and the others for the compliments. It is nice to see the prints are well received and appreciated.

Will let you all in on a little surprise... This Sunday Diane and I will be attending the fair once again, compliments of the Baron and Baroness - and will be presenting the Queen a portrait of her son. So, if you are there and want to see the Queen speechless, we will make the presentation on Sunday, June 27th, at approx noon.

Huzzah!
