Weaving cord or ribbon trim

I need to cover a stain I can't get out on the neckline of my Tudor, so I found this image of a gown with some kind of woven(?) trim.



Any ideas on how to make something like this?  Not this exact trim, but something of the same variety.

Get some kind of pretty cord that's not too think and look up a video (youtube will have one) on how to the a "snake weave" (also called a snake plait.. or a dozen other names). It sits flat, looks like a fancy braid, and is easy to sew down to other fabrics. It's also VERY easy to master.

If you look at the part of this cross from the center heading down to the base, you'll get an example of what the weave looks like: http://knottynymph.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2eziug  .. sorry, it's only about an inch and a half long, so it's not the best example, but it's the only one I've uploaded anywhere with that weave.

Ooh, thank you!  I know absolutely nothing about cord weaving, so I had no idea what to look for.  That's a big help!
