It will gain popularity in time - with faeries coming from all walks of life, from garden to goth, there is something for everyone.

At the heart of it all is Faerie God Mother, whose word of encouragement for all in attendance, "Discover the faerie in you, then release it for all the world to see." were taken to heart by young and young at heart.

There was something magical in the air as you watched the younger faeries spread their wings and take flight, realizing they are not alone, nor are they shunned for being different. Every winged creature was greeted with a smile, and in my case, a CLICK! -

For me the day was one of enlightenment of all things faerie. Watching Lemon Drop teach the young how to become a faerie was an absolute joy, as was watching Faerie God Mother give words of encouragement to faeries and future faeries...

What waits to be seen - is all those in attendance who in the future take Faerie God Mother's words to heart, take flight, and appear at the next gathering. I for one wouldn't miss it for the world.  ;D

One of the highlights of the gathering was photographing the faeries as they interacted with all the children. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the faerie Lemon Drop interact with a number of halflings as she taught them how to discover their inner faerie. So much so that I invited her to do a photo essay on "A day in the life of a faerie." The following pictorial shows how Lemon Drop, her mother Cherry Blossom, and her daughter Sweat Pea spent a day at the Botanical Garden.

Magical is the only way to describe the day - their presence surprised and delighted everyone they met along the garden paths. From the young to the young at heart, all walked away with a smile.

And, a special thanks to Paul, the faerie herder who made it all possible.  ;D
