Anybody competing in this beside me? I am doing it Sat/Sun.

I'd like to, but I don't think I can use the bow that I have, plus, no proper arrows to compete with.

Archery Tournament Rules:

You must have some experience in this sport to be accepted in the competition.
Tournament is of retreating distance style starting between five and fifteen yards and retreating in ten yard increments to a maximum of 100 yards.
Each archer is allowed three shots from each distance until disqualified.
Awards will be given out to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners.
Disqualification happens when archer fails to hit the target area with one of their three shots.
Tie-breaker: Incase of a tie, farthest distance will be selected on course with all of the remaining archers.  Each archer will be allowed one shot at this distance. Closest to the bulls eye will win the contested position.  The next closest competitor will place in the next lower position.
Equipment:

Bows:Tournament is open to bows of wood, fiberglass, horn or other natural material (including design of recurve, low bow, and Mongolian horn bows).  Self bows, laminated and laminated recurve bows are also allowed.  No compound or cross bows will be allowed.
Arrows: Wooden arrows with target points allowed.  Metal or carbon fiber arrows and broad tips or hunting points NOT allowed due to safety precautions.
Sighting devices are not allowed.

Well, that's good to know.  I still don't have proper arrows though.  The cheap kiddie practice arrows I have aren't consistent enough to use.  Don't know where I'd be able to get arrows in that short of a time, not to mention wood arrows are probably out of my price range.  If you have any suggestions, I'd be willing to entertain them...

I would have loved to enter this competition...  Unfortunately my self bow blew up in my face about two months ago and I haven't gotten around to making a new one yet.

That's THIS weekend already?!?!

Good luck to all who enter...   May your shafts fly far and true.

Think they'll work with my bow?  Was thinking I need smaller/shorter arrows to shoot properly.  Is there any place in the cities where I can buy wood field tipped arrows?

Bwana's in Little Cananda, Capra's in Blaine, check any Cabella's or maybe Fleet Farm. Gander Mt sells archery stuff I think.

Okay, picked up a few arrows, let's see if they'll let me enter now!
