ME!!!!
I know, you are just all so excited to see me back in the forums that the news of my coming up for fest put you into a dizzy, giddy, spin around in circles till you vomit whirl.... but seriously.... I'll be up for fest Sunday September 19th, family and Lee in tow.  I am SUPER excited to be coming up... and get this.... I'll be up sometime in the late afternoon/early evening on the 17th... and won't leave again till early morning on the 20th.  I'll be seeing Wicked on the 18th.

I've been absent from the forums for so long... I just got so super busy it was not even funny... and truth be told the crazy busy hasn't stopped.  At any rate, I'll try to be better about checking in from here on out.

Here's a question for you all: I have been busy making all kinds of things and am wondering if anyone would be interested in my bringing them up with me.  What kind of things you ask?  Jams, jellies, fruit butter (all made from KS local grown fruit hand picked and prepped by me), as well as the usual jewelry, and I even have some new baby snow corn snakes that need homes.  If you are interested in any of these things, please message me and we'll chat.

Either no one is online because we are all at work... or no one cares....

I just got online and read this post.  Wow, it will be great to see you again!  I think the last time I saw you was in MN, can't remember if it was 2006 or 2007.

I will be there with 3 friends, driving from Illinois on Sept. 17th, going to faire on Saturday & Sunday, then driving home Monday.  Steve has to work, so he won't be with us.

Looking forward to seeing you - but not the snakes!

It will be great to see you again.  After all, we're like family...  Ya just have to go back far enough.  ;)

Yep.... it'll be great!
Lee has been suffering from an illness that caused some sort of cavity leision on his lung but we are hoping *fingers crossed* it'll be cleared up by then and the fest dust won't cause him problems.
Renee..... I don't remember the last time I saw you in person.... it's been a LONG time.  And I've needed to give you all kinds of hugs for quite a while now.

Love hugs!  Yeah, way too long.  I'm so looking forward to seeing you again.   Only 2 more weeks.  Huzzah!

But please, don't even MENTION snakes to me, much less have them anywhere around me.  Otherwise, I hope you know CPR.  I can't even walk down the lane where they have the place with the snakes.  And if the people walk around with them, I have to leave the area, because if I see them, I will become violently ill and maybe even faint.  Really, I mean that and am not exaggerating.

Aside from that, yes, hugs.  Lots.   ;D

The EARL and I will be at fest all day on the 18th of September. Maybe if you sweet talk the Earl, Renee, we could come back on Sunday as well.

while on the road this Sunday to Target Field to the Twins game, the Earl said, "Why don't we plan to go to the Festival on Sunday as well being that Lady Renee and friends will be there." I was stunned!

I called you, Lady Renee. Get back with me!

Renee.... you know I know about your thing with snakes.  I was merely offering to bring some to people who wanted a pet.  And I never bring them out during fest.... unless it's early in the morning and directly to the herp hut where they will be well kept and looked after.  You need not worry on that account.

Divapixie:

How hard are the corn snakes to care for? I might be interested if I can convince my husband.... I normally keep frogs, toads, and salamanders but a snake could be an interesting addition to my family.

I find them a relatively easy animal to care for.  I think of all the snakes out there that corn snakes and ball pythons make the best beginner pet snake.  They stay a handlable size, eat once a week, once every two weeks when they get older, and they are animals you can accustom to handling.
That being said, you do need to do your homework if you are interested in having a pet snake or better yet.... go by the herp hut at fest and talk to one of the many snake people there.  If you've had a pet reptile before, chances are good you will do well with a corn snake.  Let me know if you'd like one ASAP and we'll make arrangements.

Hi Diva, I was half-joking when I wrote that.  I know you know my fear of snakes, and I really know you wouldn't bring them around me. And it's great that there are people who aren't so scared of them and who will give them a good home.

So I am really, really looking forward to seeing you again - in only 11 days!  Huzzah!

Kiss-me-Kate

Lady Renee, actually I appreciate you saying something regarding the snakes.  I am afraid of them also.  (we had them in our house -A LOT-when I was growing up.)
It isn't anything I am going to get-over-already either.
So, Diva, I heaved a HUGE sigh of relief when I heard you are keeping them at the Herp Hut.

Divapixie:

How much is the rehoming fee and what are they currently eating?

My husband needs this information before he will agree to another animal in the house.

Alrighty! I'm getting in the packing mode for the trip up next weekend.
Anyone out there in RF land want jam, jelly, or jewelry from me?  I'm failry certain anyone who wants corns has already contacted me.  PM me if you want to talk of these three things... I definitely have surplus to unload but won't pack a bunch if no one wants it.  It weighs down my car.  ;)

By the by.... if you want to know what kind of jam, jelly I have.... here's a brief list....
Apple butter
Apricot jam
Apple sauce
Apricot butter
Apricot preserves
American Plum Jam (a sweeter wild plum native to the US)
Cherry jelly
Crab apple jelly
Peach jam
Peach butter
Pear butter (only a few left)
Sandhill plum jelly (a tart wild plum native to Kansas)

Just in case anyone was wondering what I had. PM me if interested.

Otherwise.... we'll be leaving for MN Thursday after Lee gets off work... and we'll be getting into the cities sometime Friday afternoon/evening.  We're going to see Wicked Saturday and bumming around the cities.... Sunday is fest day for us!  WHEE!  Can not WAIT!
