I am having second thoughts on the decoration for a jerkin made out of pumkin color velet. Show me what you are wearing and give me ideas!

Here is what I have done in the past, Dona for Doublets/Jerkins. I used the Fantasy Fashions Doublet pattern and redrafted different ideas to get different looks.

Renee, you and Steve make wonderful nobles!!!!  I have usually seen you where it's too hot for you to wear this garb, but it's beautiful!

Thanks, Lady Nicolette.  This summer, Steve wore his noble garb the last weekend on Sunday.  For me, it was still way too hot.  I went peasant the whole run of Bristol this year.

Noble is nice, but wench/pirate is lots easier!

Not the best photo, but my son is the one in the upper right, in the gray doublet with black trim.  ;D

Just ignore the can of silly string in his hand, LOL!

Looks like someone was having fun. But I'm looking forward to seeing more pics.

I'm sure people have already seen my doublet, but this is the most recent picture of my noble doublet. I'm hoping to get a nice chain of office to go with it at some point in the future.

Master James

Here is my doublet from the 2009 season.  The red dots on the doublet are hand sewn roccaile beads.

Here is a good shot of my cape for that doublet.
Why can't reality be more like faire?

I have not sewn any new doublets lately.  But I made these for Hubby.  The brown was for last year and the black was a couple of years before that. (I wanted to burn the black by the time faire was over, I totally did not like the way it came out)

May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

You must see flaws in the black one that I don't.

This one is definitely not mine, but I just have to share what a fellow LJ friend is working on:
A slashed black silk doublet inspired by various portraits by the artist Bronzino. It's so gorgeous!

Here is one we had made by Journeyman Leather for my husband. It's so soft and as stated by its maker "yummy"

This Bronzino doublet is absolutely gorgeous.
And Lissame, that doublet is a great one for the kilt, classically good looking.

Stumbled on this thread while pondering the same thing as Dona C--trim for an in-progress doublet--and thought it was an excellent time for a bump!

It is amazing how many nice doublets are out there.

Man... wish I would have seen this thread for some inspiration a few months ago!  ;D  It's giving me some ideas for my next project.

^^It is indeed, very soft and lined with muslin.
