When Nim and I first married, we borrowed my parents' car to leave the church in, since our car was pretty ragged. My folks eventually gave the car to my baby brother, and he finally sold it a couple years ago.

The guy that bought it, fully restored the car, beautifully, I might add. What do you think?

We were in a hurry to... ummm... nevermind....

I had the Olds up over 110 mph on the freeway with a lot of pedal left. I wasn't a good enough high-speed driver to want to chance going any faster.  My older brothers won a lot of money with my folks previous car, a 1967 Olds 442.

Being the non-conformist kids we were, we did not change before we left the church. Nim was in her Old South wedding dress, and I in my monkey suit. We drove to the edge of town and stopped at a Kentucky Fried Chicken and got something to eat. The folks working there thought we were totally nuts. Of course, they were right.

We didn't have any money. Armed with the chicken, we went to the apartment and... did things. 

You know what? We still have a lot of fun together.  We just do different ... things...

Well, not The Official Pace Car, but the one in the picture is the one we drove away in.  The real pace car was the convertible version.

We've slowed down just a touch since we both passed the 60 marker.

Now that it's restored, sure! I'm told that there's some kind of car club that Indy lets take the pace car copies onto the track, and that the old H/O has been out there. My brother just turned loose of the car 2-3 years ago, so it stayed in the family for about 35 years.

Ceremony - slightly half-assed at the moment LOL. I might just tell our officiant to wing it.
Beer - stocked (yay, 1 thing done)
Liquor - mostly stocked
Tickets - SENT (yay, 2 things done)

Need to get the truck washed too...it's a mess!
