Is the wind a big problem on faire site? I know at CORF when they say it's windy they really mean it, because we have so few trees and it's all dirt...

The preview day Sunday was really windy and dusty, so hopefully the rain will wet the ground enough to settle the dust but not too much mud. But there are enuogh grassy places that if is the wind gusts up, the dust isn't too bad.

When you are pushing 50-60mph gusts of wind, yes there is going to be dust.  There is alot of grass around, but on the gravel paths there is some dust.

I have found that weather can change fast this time of year. Grandma use to say it was the spirts of winter and Summer fighting over who get's the upper hand.   ;D
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

It's Texas. The weather changes just to show you it can.
But usally wind is not a big issue except in the parking lot. Inside the fair the grounds are down in a bowl like depression, so the wind is mostly blocked out.

Although being from central Arkansas I don't get to Scarby but 2-3 times a year, but this past weekend was the windiest that I've run into there. But there was some really serious wind this past weekend.

It may not be uphill in all directions, but there's damn sure Texans in all directions... don't know which is worse...

Jeez, I hope these people know I'm kidding them!

Every time I visit a flat faire I have a moment where I have to go "why are my calves not burning? Oh...oh yeah."

Hey, Merlin the Elder,

Just keep visiting us Texans at Sherwood, Scarby and maybe TRF, keep having a great time here.  Who knows, someday you might join us for good.   ;D

Me, I got a bumper sticker that says "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could."
