Missing

I just got a call from my very best friend, telling me that her oldest son (19) has gone missing from his college (in the same town she lives in, but he lives in the dorm).
He's been dealing with a lot over the last several months, and has lost 4 friends either in car accidents or due to terminal illness since he graduated high school in May.  Some of the drama is directly related to a girl he fancies that has been playing head games with him for months.
His roommate last saw him on Monday. The hospital reported that he was there & then released on Tuesday following treatment for an overdose of ibuprofen.
He does not drink (having had a stepfather for the last 8 years that is a drunk), or do drugs (his dad nearly died because of drug use), and is generally a good kid, with a lot of potential, and plans for his future.
At any rate, he's not answering his phone (nor is the girl we believe is involved), and there's no sign of him on his Facebook or Myspace pages since Tuesday morning.
If ya'll would please say a prayer, light a candle, send up positive vibes, or whatever your method for support is, it would be most appreciated.

Oh dear! Lots of thoughts, prayers, good energy and a few wishes thrown in there too.  The late teens and early 20's are turning into ROUGH years for so many kids. I sincerely hope he is well, and found soon. Hugs to you and your friend.

Thanks ya'll. His name is Nathan, and apparently the hospital in Odessa where he was treated for the ibuprofen OD transferred him to a psych facility in San Angelo, where he will be getting treatment. We don't have much information right now, because his mother missed his call and hasn't been able to talk to anyone at the hospital since she got his message, but we are profoundly grateful that he is safe and getting treatment.

Yes, people of all ages are under extreme pressure these days. Hard enough to handle when you have a few years and some perspective under your belt. Tougher when you are young.

My most positive thoughts and prayers are being sent to Nathan, and as much healing energy as possible.  I'm so very glad he is safe, and finding the help he needs!

Nathan's been released, with a diagnosis if depression and ptsd, neither of which comes as a huge surprise to me. He's home, talking to me, and hopefully listening to what I have to say (which I'm trying to say without lecturing him). Now the task will be getting him into outpatient therapy and helping him along the road to healing (as much as one heals from ongoing issues like depression & ptsd) and management.  Thanks again for your prayers and energies.
