I come to you with a heavy heart. I am a volunteer medic with the local small town ambulance corp. Today we lost a dear friend. Ruth dispatched for us from the late 60's up until just a few years ago. She dispatched from her home 24/7, with her children taking over from time to time. Today we were dispatched to her address, where she had passed away peacefully. We all knew what the call meant when it came in. I called my wife and with tears in my eyes gave her the news. Ruth always had a kind word to say to every member of our ambulance corp and knew most of the people in our community. She was well into her 80's when she reluctantly stepped down from her duties. She gave to this town more than we can ever repay. I ask for prayers for her family and for each of you to take my words and remember this wonderful lady. Thank you for your time.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We laid our dear Ruth to rest this past Tuesday. She was escorted to her resting place by Rescue 2 (What we call the Baywatch truck as we literally bought it from the set of Baywatch.) Members of our ambulance corp took turns standing honor guard over her and we had old members come from far away to pay their last respect. To give you an idea of the type of woman she was two short stories, One; While I did not grow up in this town she knew me from the Ambulance Corp. I was gone for three years and when I returned I re-joined the Ambulance Corp. My first time on the radio I cleared with her and she came back with her standard good night and added , "Welcome back Xantrawler." The other time was when my wife was in collage. I had called Ruth to get times and she told me to relay her congregants to my wife for making the Dean's list. These are only a couple stories. I could go on all day, but I will save your eyes.
Once more than you for your thoughts and prayers.
