Thanks, Merlin, but the "handout" I speak of is the pikes for the Parade.

Anyone who WANTS to carry one of those is allright in my book!

Oh the pikes aren't so bad in many ways they are easier than carrying sword and certainly easier than the old pikes.  Also easier that that long train we carried a few season ago your Majesty just happly we didn't have the wind we've had the last three weekends that weekend or we might have had a flying Majesty.
