I went to this as a kid. It was fun the pirates sail down front street shooting cannons from the deck of the ship. Then they would row their dingies to shore pick up some supplies & winches. The town's people fire there cannons back then get in their sea skiffs and take back what is theirs. then they have a mock trial.... they quit doing it because some one stood in front of a cannon and got hurt

Its fun Beaufort should host some Renaissance festivals... it would be the perfect place for it!!
