On Sunday, March 31, we will have what we are still calling "The Friends of the Faire Preview Event" from 1:00pm - 5:00pm. However, this season, will be different. The King's Pub will be open and you will still be able to walk the Festival site and see all of the new additions before anyone else! Main Souvenirs will be open, and there will be slices of pizza and soft drinks available for purchase at the Crown Kitchen. There will also be free water and gatorade available. You are welcome to bring a snack with you if you would like. At the end of the day the Scarborough Academy of Performing Arts members will join you for a meet and greet near the King's Pub.

On Sunday, April 7, we will have an exclusive Friends of the Faire Continental Breakfast in the Village Green in Holly Field from 11:00am - 1:00pm. You will need to show your FOF pass to get in. If you could please RSVP to this email or directly to Marketing@srfestival.com if you plan on attending the breakfast so that we can make sure there is enough food, we would greatly appreciate it.

One more piece of housekeeping - if you purchased a Friend of the Faire pass for someone else and you are receiving this email, please send us their email address so that they can get updates as well.

If you have any questions, please let us know! We will see you on March 31. HUZZAH!

I was wondering the same thing!

Husb is on cast this year; I was considering riding down with him in the morning and poking around Waxahachie until time for our event (it makes no sense for two of us to drive all the way down on the same day) . . . but didn't consider what to do about clothes!

DanielleGuinnMKT

Typically the Preview event (on Sunday, March 31st) is a "muggle clothing" event. However, for the continental breakfast on April 7th, feel free to wear whichever you are more comfortable in wearing on a festival day.

Please remember, if you have purchased your FOF pass and would like to attend the Continental Breakfast on April 7th - I would greatly appreciate an RSVP so we can make sure there is enough food for everyone - Marketing@srfestival.com.

Hope to see all of you there!

Any chance you would let FOF pass holders camp with cast/vendors? :D that'd be pretty sweet

While it's been suggested in the past, I don't think there's a chance of it (I know not this year, for certes).  Perhaps someday... But truly, most of the cast don't camp!

I didn't meet too many people, but it was great meeting those I did!

Also, I learned that apparently SPF45 is just not enough.  I need SPF eleventybillion.

yes, preview day was a good learning experience for us as well!  We'll have to figure out something more than sunscreen to keep the top of little Jocelyn's head from burning!  We have a little bonnet for her, but it's too big for her currently...  we'll probably have to cut and alter it before next weekend

For me, and my skin of a redhead (although I'm naturally more brunette than red), I've had the best success with the following:
Coppertone Waterbabies SPF 50 (which is the highest they had when I found what I use now) has always done fabulously for me, even though I am terrible about re-application, even in the water, I still sometimes ended up a little pink after a day in the water, but NEVER got a true sunburn when I used it.

Neutrogena SPF 85 or SPF 100 is what I use now. I understand that all the studies and scientists say that anything over 30 is a waste of money, blah blah blah, but I also understand my own skin, and the fact that I cannot avoid sunburn with anything less than 50. Even the Coppertone Waterbabies 45 will leave me with a mildly annoying sunburn (albeit not one that blisters and peels, like ANYTHING under 45 does, even with frequent reapplication). I've used the cream for years, but discovered at TRF, when a friend came to me after she'd applied her makeup with her spray-on Neutrogena and asked me to spray her face, that it's a fabulous way to keep the makeup from wearing off, so I'll probably use that instead, at least on my face.
