You all may already be aware of the UK TV series the Supersizers. They did an episode about the Elizabethan era. The demonstrations of recipes are fascinatingly revolting, and there is one very humorous exchange regarding a cod piece. The episode is available on YouTube in 6 segments.

I'd never heard of this program but just spent the better part of a day watching several episodes. What marvelous fun! Thank you for posting.
