Oh, wow... with an actual spaetzle maker, or a sieve?  I can imagine that takes a bit of time, although I've never actually seen it done, just read about it.  I love authentic dishes, though!  How cool that you want to learn to make it the traditional way...  :)

We're having easy chicken noodle soup tonight.  I didn't make the noodles myself, though!!!  :P

(edit)
Soooo... that morphed into chicken pasta primavera, with rotini instead of the egg noodles, and my 9 y/o renlet has decided she wants to help with all the cooking from now on!!!  We made it together, and it was fun!  :D  Can't wait for tomorrow's menu...  ;)

We used a traditional strainer and it turned out fabulous.  We had to transpose a standard recipe and multiply it to serve 90...needed to tweak it with a bit more flour than we thought to get the right consistency but it worked out excellent in the end.

It will definitely be on my list of "things I need to learn how to do the traditional way" the next time I get back to Germany to visit my chef friend there.

This was a practice run for a full German meal that we are doing in September for 180...schnitzel, rouladen, spaetzle, red cabbage and apple strudel.....nom nom nom nom nom
