Tonight I start the medicine my Dr ordered for me after the panic attacks the other day. Hopefully taking these will help things to calm down a little bit, even if it's just for me and in my own head. I hate the idea of taking any medication, let alone something to take the edge off my nerves. But in the long run it's better for me to keep a level head and stay out of the hospital. Panic attacks are one thing, but having a heart attack wouldn't do anyone any good.

So far, today has been a good day for little one on the new program they have her set up in at school! YEY! That in and of itself is a huge help to my nervous system. Lol

I have been reading through your thread here for a while, now, and I finally feel like I need to jump in there. I have been diabetic for about 15 years, now, and my main suggestion is to make her life as normal as possible. The more of an issue that is made of her medical condition, the more she will use it. Of course, she needs to take her medication and watch her diet, and hopefully everything will stay under control. And of course, when your blood sugar is out of control, it can have an effect on you, both physically and psychologically, but once you are stabilized, those instances are generally pretty rare. I'm not saying that these situations are not real, by any means, and you need to watch her glucose levels, but also remember that she is a child, and children love attention, whether it is always positive or not. As I said, the more of an issue it becomes, the more attention she will receive. Of course, my experience was with two healthy boys (The Anti-Christ and his brother - but I love them very much.), but one thing I always did was, when they started to misbehave, I pretended that I could not hear them until they were calm and courteous. The more attention they would demand, the less I could hear. We would all be very frustrated for a short period of time, and then, as soon as they did something positive, I would respond. It wouldn't take them long to figure out that the nicer they were, the more attention they got.

Of course, now they have both hit 30, and I am sometime surprised that I let them live, but believe it or not, they have both turned into remarkable young men that I am very proud of. I guess what I am trying to say is, "Hang in there!" If you ever need someone to vent to, you know where to find me.

And just so you know, it sounds to me like you are a wonderful mother, and you are doing a fine job.

*HUGS* Thanks hun! Sometimes it really feels like I'm failing as a parent with her. Especially the more she acts out and gets nasty with other people. There are times I just want to curl up and disappear. But ya can't do that and make sure she's doing what she needs to do to stay healthy. I'm hoping me giving in to taking medicine will help to make things a little easier.

I've tried the not being able to hear her thing, and it ends up with her getting so upset that her blood sugar gets messed up.

     My mother has  this  saying    that she  has repeated often  with  me  and  my sisters    when  we  call her   about days  we are having  with  our  own  kids.  It goes  something  like  this,

         " You  are  not  truely  a  mother  until  your  child  turns  around  and  says   they  hate   you  !  ."

                 Hang in    there girlfriend.      From all your posts  and threads,  you are  doing  the  best  you can    for  her.  Like  Peddlin  said,    flucuating  blood  sugar levels    can  really affect  your  mood   !    Been there  !  Just ask  my husband    !  he  can always  tell  when  i am having a low  sugar  day   !  I get very moody  !  LOL   !  (  me  moody  no  !     )

Hey sweetie sorry I've not been keeping up as much lately but things have just been a little crazy with work and all.As I was reading your last (and most recent posts) I noticed you started talking about you giving in to taking meds for your panic attacks to help calm your nerves where Phoeny is concerned and about how you feel like you are failing as a parent with her some time.Well let me tell you I may not be a parent myself but I think you are a wonderful and have been so to Tiger otherwise she would not have turned out to be the fun loving little girl that you have been raising all these years.Yes I know it get hard with her sometimes but remember she needs you right not to be there for her through all that is going on right now.Just like Peddlin said if you ever need someone to vent to you know where to find me.Don't think for one second that I have forgotten about you and the little one cause I have not.You two still are and continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks so much! I didn't take the medicine last night. The night before I only took half a pill because it was making me sick. Now it seems I've gotten a cold or something again, so I didn't want to make it worse than it already has been.

Little kid went to school today. This morning she started doing a lot of coughing again. Which she hasn't been doing a lot of this weekend. I told her if she plays sick again today just because she wants to come home and play with the kittens, she'll be in a lot of trouble. Friday she telling the nurse that she didn't feel good and kept asking her to take her temperature. I picked her up half an hour early. When she got home, once again she was fine and wanted to play with the kittens and watch movies. She only attended one full day of school last week... She can't be playing sick just because she wants to play with the kittens! Totally not cool.

I'm feeling a little bit better today than I was yesterday. Hopefully the trend holds and I get completely better. Being sick doesn't help what so ever. lol
