I'll pass on the Spork! It is pricy!
But this is the first movie I have wanted to see in ages!I ADORED the original Star Trek!  I even have the garb! Old Rubies Halloween costume from a Long time ago- in a galaxy far away! Oops Wrong movie!LOL!

About the guy or the movie?

Just looking for a good hat.

DD#1 and I leave in an hour to catch the 10pm showing in IMAX.  My kids are surprised I am so enthusiastic about the movie.  It has gorgeous people, even better spaceships and lots of things to go BOOM - what more do you need!  And it's about time they got back to the Enterprise crew I grew up with!  Who needs diplomacy when you have a fully charged phaser bank?  ;D

(Scary thing #1: the guy playing Kirk is only 2 years older than my DD#1.  Sigh.  When did I get old enough to be Kirk's mom?)

So I was excited about both really and both fully inspired and thrilled me last night!!

The writers must have spent long hours on the script, because they got each character spot on.  My daughter (age 26) said, on the drive home, "I've never paid much attention to TOS, but we need to rent it.  I loved the characters."  Perfect.

I'm going to go see it after work today.  Would have tried to see it last night, but my husband had to get up for work at 4:30am today.  o.O

Sadly, I ran out of time to do anything about a costume, so I"m stuck w/the oversized shirt.  Might still wear that, if it doesn't look too bad.

Either way, I'm very excited, and based on the comments of the people who have already seen it, I won't be disappointed.

;D ;D ;D

Enjoyable...I would say more but don't want to give anything away for those who have not seen it yet.  I will say it almost makes up for the drudgery of "Enterprise" and "Voyager".  Very well casted!
"Why a spoon cousin? Why not an axe?"
Because it's dull you twit, it'll hurt more. Now SEW, and keep the stitches small

Wow...
Sitting in the IMAX with friends, drinking a double rum and coke I was just blown away...
Not giving anything away, but the characters are just dead one... perfect casting
I Loved the look of the new ship (Sorry Killian... but I liked it lol)
Great prequel type story (there were some changes in the history... but I can deal with that)
Wow...
I went in semi-worried that they would screw up something from my childhood, nope... only made it better
I am ready for some sequels in this Star Trek universe storyline

*Having a double rum and coke was a nice bonus... I love theatres with bars*
*Got more Rum?* "Here, Try This!"

Well I saw Star Trek and didn't like it at all because they changed the storyline too much from star trek cannon.

::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Please.  Even Trek can't keep its own canon straight.  Remember the tombstone with "James R. Kirk", anyone?  Or Khan telling Chekov "I never forget a face," even though they never met?

I'm keeping an open mind.

Those are little tiny things but when you watch the movie you will see HUGE HUGE things which anyone who even watched a few episodes will immediately notice.

While some may fall in love with trek again I think they are making a huge mistake.
