The NWS long range simply says "Friday thru Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72." Way far out but at least there doesn't seem to be any big change coming (it snowed here in Bowie last night!). We will be driving down Friday and staying at America's Best Value (hey it's just a place to sleep and garb up). Anyone else staying there. WE are bringing my daughter, son in law and their 6 kids (yes its like the Brady bunch sort of), her 2 and his 4. Give a shout out to them if you see them. They went last year for the first time ever and this time, they all have put together garb and are so excited. They had a blast last year (daughter was beckoned to the stage by Don Juan), kids loved Twig and the Duchess, Noobler and others, SOL and I did archery and his youngest son (he's 8 this year) asked me at the end of the Final Joust "papa Rick, what do they do with that dead guy?" I told him that oh it was just an act and he'd get up and walk off. He said "I saw the blood!" So, I took him back to watch and true to form (I had never seen them do this) and maintaining the illusion, they brought out a stretcher and carried him off. So, they just haul off the dead guy and throw him in the woods...

I'm excited, sharing Faire with family and friends, introducing them to all of my Faire friends is why the world of Faire is so great!

11 days is about right for my knee to heal enough to be able to stand on it all day. I'll live with the current schedule....  :'(

Feel better, Z  :)

Nope, they strip off his armor so the other knights can divvy it up, and the Guard gets shovel duty...Gotta keep the coyotes and wolves away from the horses.

Julie's Rennie Math...

Monday : Doesn't count because it has already started  ;D

Tuesday : 1 day

Wednesday : 1 day

Thursday : 1 day

Friday : Doesn't count because I will be traveling to Texas so technically "faire" has started for me   ;D

Grand Total of Days for Me until Faire (according to my very precise Rennie Math) = 3 days!!!   ;D ;D ;D

Zaubon

Great math! Now I just need to convince the knee that needs several more days, that three is enough. :'(

Let's just go NOW.

Oh yeah, I have that job thing. I knew I was forgetting something. Maybe I could put a cardboard cutout of myself in front of the classroom and the students wouldn't notice.

THELADYKAT

You never know, or they will and thank you for it later.

Ferret, that's a wonderful idea. I'll have to try the cardboard cutout with my students too. I'm going to be useless teaching while waiting for Scarby anyway for my mind will be at Scarby already.
