Master James

Greetings to All and Happy New Year!

I have been coordinating with the Burke Center Library (part of the
Fairfax County Library system) on possibly presenting a Mini-Faire at
the Library on Saturday, April 4th. This is approved by the BOD and
Chris P.
The opportunity for 'publicizing' VARF for free throughout the
Fairfax County Library system and the Fairfax County Government is an
immense opportunity of which we should try to take advantage. This
would require approximately 3-4 hours (11AM-3PM? actual time TBD). We
need assistance from any returning or veteran cast members who are
willing to offer either a 'strolling minstrel' type performance, or
a 'mini-show' that can be possibly coordinated with other cast
members. All presentations should be family friendly. A mini-show
(about 30 minutes + or -) can be, but is not limited to, something
like dressing a noble, life as a town's person,anatomy of a fight,
calligraphy, hand arts, dancing, armor presentation... your
creativity and space limitations are the only limits. (Production
staff should consult with Chris P. prior to committing to this
because of a possible conflict.)

I am rapidly approaching the date when we need to confirm whether or
not we can offer this to them and I need to have a commitment as to
your availability AS SOON AS POSSIBLE- before January 9th is
preferable, along with what you would like to offer as a show. The
library has no set agenda for us, just a mini-ren faire, so whatever
we want to do is great. This also offers cast an opportunity to pull
out and dust off your characters or acts a little early and refresh
your acting chops.
PLEASE!- Any and all assistance with this opportunity will benefit
the the best Renaissance Faire around- VARF of course! (A little
added benefit is that the branch manager is a Rennie!)

Thank you all and I look forward to hearing from you.

My wife is actually coordinating this endeavor so if you could contact me here, if you can participate, I'll get the information to her.  Any entertainers that wish to participate will be welcome but it would be for free as the county does not have many funds to support this.  I doubt that passing the hat would be allowed either but I will ask that question and let you know when we do.

Sir:

I am interested, but have some limitations per my recent lower back surgery.

I can offer another program along with performing.  Please contact me "off-line" by e-mail:   Troubadude@gmail.com

Tom, I already told Sharon I'd be willing to do some harping -- if you feel like doing any duets, lemme know. With enough lead time I might actually know a few songs in the same key you do!

Lowland:

Sorry for the delay in getting back, I've been kind of hibernating lately.  I am back to work 2 days per week, but I've found I get more done those days I'm at work than when I'm home . . .  Go figure!

If you get a chance, please send me a list of your repretoire with keys to my e-mail: troubadude@gmail.com .   I'd be glad to play with you, in a very innocent, platonic way...

Thanks for thinking of me and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.  By the way, my contact info is available at my web-site: http://www.troubadude.com/

Alright folks, let's hear it.
Who's planning to come to the mini-Faire?

I might be a little late, but I'm planning to be there.

That old VARF Cripple (me) will be there, so let's get some young, handsome/pretty healthy folks to show up so they don't get the wrong idea!

I may have to leave a little early (my daughter has an Honors Band concert that night in, I think, Forestville) but I'll be there bright and early -- so the old farts have both ends covered! And Tom, I apologize and grovel for not getting you my gig list earlier. I'll send it later today, and maybe we can mix it up on a couple of tunes. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
