I'm almost done with a cane for a friend who wanted it to hold a discreet smoking implement. I just need to turn a small wooden box that will fit in the ball of the handle to hold the smoke-able material. The pipe itself is made of bone with a brass head threaded on to it.

Well, I've only had it on briefly for our little photo shoot, but it seems like it will be so far.  The last one I made was extremely comfortable.  I don't own any traditional corsets, so I have no real comparison to go by.  Though, we are constantly moving at faire and walking for what seems like miles rarely sitting to rest for the entire day.  Yet my back felt great.

UPDATE:  I finally wore this one all day at Scarborough for beer/wine tasting Sunday.  And, yay!  It was very comfortable.

WOW is all I've got to say... I can't remember the last time I saw something so unique!!  It looks like chain mail almost, but not quite...  You could certainly go a bit more warrior style with it, carry a long sword and such...  I'd definitely do an off the shoulders undershirt that's flowy for the slightly sexy and dangerous look....  I was also thinking a dangerous beauty style bottoms would be fun, like a split skirt front showing bloomers underneath.  I do this for my courtesan outfit, but it seems it would go well with this if you did the colors a bit darker and less courtesany...  Like maybe a gold overskirt to match the emblem on the front and some dark grey or black bloomers....  just my thoughts when I see this.

Hat styles, I have no idea...  sorry, just not seeing a hat with this really...

Thanks, LadyElizabeth and Tammy.

And, LadyElizabeth, those are some wonderful ideas.  I tried an off white shirt that had nice poofy sleeves, but the neckline did nothing for it.  Your right.  Definitely has to be off the shoulders.  I'll have to watch this movie "Dangerous Beauty".  I did a search and found a few images.

I just couldn't picture a hat, either.  That's why I asked.  I like to keep the sun off my face and out of my eyes, but maybe a parasol is a better choice.    Thanks so much for the great suggestions.

If I remember correctly, you have a tutorial for weaving those.  If so, I have lost the link and would greatly appreciate a repost of it.  I especially loved your middle eastern inspired one though they are all  lovely.
