Then we have kinda all ready meet since the QOH does the wedding arc and I don't think I missed a wedding last year.  Glad we could be of service.

Oh cool :)  having an arch waiting for us when we walked out was unforgettable..   Thank you soo much !

Way back in the 1980's I believe it was. It wasnt near as developed then as now.  We started going on a regular basis again about 5 years ago.  Always have a great time too.
There are many places where compromise is expected;
LOYALTY is not amongst them.

My first time at Scarby was Mother's Day weekend in 2002. I took my Mom (her first time to go to a  faire) as a mother -daughter get away. We had a blast. I haven't been back since. I move from Houston (3 hour drive) to Corpus Christi (8 hour drive) so it's a really long trip, but I will be there Opening weekend this year! Yeaaaa can't wait!!
I'm the reason the rum is gone! (Unless Teach is near by!)

I finally got to attend Scarby for the first time last season. Was only there for a few hours (went with family who is not very into faire), but had a blast all the same. I am looking forward to going back, and getting to actually see the entire faire.  ;D

LOL... yeah, all 130 lbs of me

in the early 80's I got the "you look just like Scott Baio"
Then the movie "Valley Girl" came out and I got "you look just like Nicolas Cage".
when I was in the army with a flat top I got "you look just like Pee Wee Herman"
now every once in a while i get "you look like Tom Green"

There's certainly a decline going on for sure!  ;D

Consider yourself lucky.  I always got "Hey!  You look like Skippy from 'Family Ties'"

It was a Saturday in '81, the second year Scarby was open.  I remember the Kissing Wenches, the delicious scent of those apple dumplings and mouth-watering turkey legs, the amazing herding dogs, cool Hobbit Holes (I spent a LOT of time there during the hot days), and the open fields.  The Human Chess Match was on marked off squares in white chalk.  I went with my mom, and we met Old King Cole and became good friends with him over the next few years.  Faire was quite different then, not bad or better, just different.  I think I even have a few pics around (not sure).

I always looked forward to going to Scarby, and I still enjoy it. :-)

My first time to visit Scarby was a few years back...on Snow Weekend!  lol ;D  I was the only wench on site who didn't have a cloak!  I went to every shop on the grounds trying to buy one and when I discovered every shop on the grounds was SOLD OUT...I spent the rest of the day "cloak jumping"  lol  ;D  For those of you who were not there...that consisted of me being snuggled into random rennie friends cloaks (with them still in it)  ;) for about 5 minutes at a time or until I was warm enough to set off in search of new friends to snuggle with! ;D
