Just to let everyone know that Waxahachie is now a "WET ZONE"... beer and wine available EVERYWHERE... So, for those of you that are staying at hotels and what something to drink, you don't have to drive 15-20 miles to get something

"Just be safe and have fun"

see you at Scarby!

Love Good Wood

P.S. no "hard liquor" sold close by... why is that?... people can get just as intoxicated with beer and wine, so why not sell anything stronger? I don't really drink beer (only on occasion) and I haven't found a wine that I like (if it tasted like grape juice but had a kick like Jager!)... Give me a Long Island Iced Tea anyday!!!

BLAKDUKE

M'lord Doublet:

I have the answer to your dilema.  If you are ever in the Rochester New York  or actually anyplace in upstae N.Y.  Find a bottle of Widmers Lake Niagra Wine.  It is like drinking grapes.   It is a white wine but oh so delicious.  I am running low so when I make my bi-annually(every other year) trek to visit my daughter I will no doubt pick up a few cases to take back to the southern shires where we can't get it.

wonderful!... i tried a bottle of wine (can't remember the name) from a local who said it was a great starter wine... tasted like sparkling grape juice and only 6% alcohol (about the same as a wine cooler... haha)... it was ok but not enough "buzz" for $16 a bottle

i do hear that they are making Absenth in the States now... I hear that's one hell of a kick!... no wonder they see green fairies!

CahirDochartaigh

I just tried absinthe for the first time at a bar in Arlington a couple of nights ago. It was an interestingly satisfying buzz to say the least! Good thing I was walking home...

Ar n Duthcas!

Queen Bonnie

What good news about Waxahachie not being so DRY anymore!
I have tried Absinthe. Ok for one time- but still prefer Scotch- or wine!
Wingardium Leviosa!
Tis not the length of the staff- but the magick there in!

Doublet - since they don't have hard liquor, we refer to that as being only "moist" ;)

Queen Bonnie

Moist! I Love it! If twas only Beer- would it just be damp? LOL!

I wondered why the new gas station was taking so long to open down by I35. I bet they were waiting so they could sell beer and wine.

I guess this means that Scarby pubs don't have to be private clubs anymore.

I think they'll still do it to "identify" those of legal drinking age, won't they?
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

Actually, the Festival is not within the city limits, so the private club lives on....
