Is everyone staying dry over there???

Noble Dreg

I could be wrong but I don't believe any of the "regulars" live in the Fargo/moorhead area.  Floods there are so common because the river flows north!  Spring melts flow into colder and still frozen lattitudes, makes for poor drainage!  I feel for the people who live there, I truly do...but there is a reason they call it a "flood plain".

Thanks for asking!

Well, my basement flooded a few days ago from all the rain and rapid thawing/melting.  Spent a good four hours mopping and trying to dry it up... >:(

We have lots of family up there that are holding so far. My parents brought up everything from the basement. The river is supposed to crest today.

Sounds like my family is doing okay for now.. They've moved my Great Aunt and Grandmother to my Uncles place outside of town...

We shall see...

I remember the floods well, sand bagged every year...

My room and the spare room flooded this last weekend cuz of the thowing and rain. The creek made it over the septic mound and all!

I have a ton of family in FM.  And my BFF lives in Dillworth.  Most fared well.  One uncle lives is a part of Moorhead that has flooded a few times and they lost the basement again.  Not sure why they keep finishing it off.  Three of the relies have been really good about sending e-mails to the rest of us out state a couple times a day.  Mostly right now I think they are tired of not going to work and those with young kids are ready to send them back to school.  It's getting old being home waiting...  There has been no shortage of volunteers.  Many have been sent home because there were too many.  I think the schools open up again tomorrow.
