Ok- I know this is probably waaay to early to get my vicarious scarby in as faire just closed 50 min ago...BUT...

HOW WAS OPENING WEEKEND!!!!!    Give me pictures, give me details...give me my fix!!!!

I still have 2 weeks before I make it up there...so...I'm begging for a bit of scarby news!

It was super fun.  I think a good time was had by all.  I know i did  ;)

Opening Sat. was hot and dry.  Didn't matter a bit as everyone was excited to be back at faire again.  Day started out cloudy and became sunny.   Sunday was cold->cool, sunny, and windy.  [OK cold is relative, it didn't snow or anything.]   It was terrific to be able to catch up with everyone.

Saw a few of the core cast from TRF roaming the village.  That's why the cast of both Scarby and TRF are so good.  It's not a job, it's faire!  ;D

It was interesting to see how much the village came to life in the 1 week span from the FoF event to opening day.  Someone went and turned on the "magic" switch again.  Maybe their spell components got delivered during the week.  ;)

I agree! It was my first time to Scarby, and it was magic! Every second just blew my mind. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much!  ;D I worked TRF last season, so I missed out on a lot of friends and socializing, after living out of state for 4 years. Glad to be home!

It will probably take a few hours to load and sort and label pictures, but I'll try to get at least a few of my favs up today.

We forgot the camera but it turned out to be a wonderful opening.
Saturday got pretty warm after a cool morning start.
It was great to see so many people again. Sorry about the ones I missed!
Some things changed, some people moved around; so the faire had some new things to learn.

On to Easter weekend!

We had a great time, it was so great to see all our ren friends again, it has been way to long. I can't wait till next weekend to do it all again.  ;)

John

Both days were perfectly wonderful.
Scarborough, you've out done yourself again.

It was a magical time and a homecoming at Scarby! Midnight Ferret and I had a fantastic time together! Hugs to all the R/F ers! Wonderous to see so many of you this weekend!
It went by way too fast!
Now back to reality and it is not great. My  favorite Royal feline, Tachi is not doing at all well.I picked him up from boarding at the vet this AM. I might have a sad decision to make soon unless he perks up.
Hoping I can make next weekend- but I do not know right now.
I am so happy I had a great opening weekend there with friends!

With the exception of the FoF pass fiasco and the various forgotten items... it was fantastic!

I Love Being at Faire!
My friends knowing I was starting out in a foul mood and solving the problem by plying me with alcohol (still waiting for that one from Thomas... j/k, ya know I luvs ya bro)
Walking about shopping and seeing the sights
Getting compliments on my new coat (that it was way to warm to wear but I did anyways)
Getting a few new garb pieces for my Love
Getting my NEW MUG THAT I HAVE BEEN WANTING SINCE TRF! (they weren't exactly what i wanted at the time... but they are new and improved now!)
Spending 2 days with my dearest friends (3 actually, since we got up at that way early hour to hang out and shop on the way)
So many times/things to mention... not even going to try and name them all
But, Best of all... for me at least... Getting lost in time at faire with my Lovely Lady Trinn. Nothing can or will ever top being with her at faire as my favorite moments.

*Watching how fast my rum was disappearing was pretty great too lol*

Opening weekend was Splendid! I have not graced Scarborough Faire with my presence is two years. I had a wonderful weekend seeing all my friends and spending time with many of the RF members! I'm so glad I made the RF group photo, I always end up missing those at TRF due to work!

p.s. Thanks to Teach and Trinn for the tickets for Sunday, they were very well used! :)

It was so great to see everyone and spend time with you all. I've been away from my family for too long!! :)

Because I left early due to not feeling well, I'm sorry to those I didnt see or get to say good bye to. There is plenty more faire ahead of us and always plenty of good times to be had.
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

It's always great to be with fairemily!  Had a great weekend, see everybody and enjoying faire.
Don't forget to smell the roses, but watch out for the thorns!

captmarga

I'm a little worse for wear from the sahara-like dust storms (got some in one eye and it's swollen shut this am, getting slowly better with visine and cold compress) and late night... One of the cast members had a flat out on 287 and we helped to find a 24-hour repair (it was already his spare, of course).  We only live 45 min from faire, but it was 1 am when we staggered in.

Saturday was GREAT, yesterday the cool was a bit much, but we made it through the whole day.

Yes, Parade is the opposite direction.  Made for some confusion with shows and crowds, but that will get better.  All together, a pretty good weekend!

I had a great time!
Hope I can make it back again!

Ok- so vicariously...I now have sand in my eye, tipsy from the run, smiling ear to ear, sunburnt (I don't know where I am vicariously sunburnt at- but I hope it is someplace decent!)warm inside from the rekindled friendships...
ahhh....feels good.

Sounds like you guys had fun this past weekend- *very antsy* two more weeks....two more weeks....I feel childish I am so excited.  We will be staying at Super 8 (this will actually be the first year we have gone on Sat & Sun, so first overnight trip) so hope to see some of you pool side then!

Alright- well rest up and do it again!!!

I had a lot of fun.  Thanks for all of you coming to the show and supporting my first weekend out there.  It definitely made me much more comfortable to see your faces in the crowd instead of strangers.  Hope to see you all some of the other weekends around fair.

I think that the management of Scarborough deserves a big thanks for all the money and effort they put into the new sewer system, including the years it took to get the state to issue the permits.  The improvements did not go unnoticed.

Scarborough Faire, now with less black plague!
Thank you Scarborough and thank you Paul for pointing out what passed under my feet unnoticed.

Was great visiting with you and Holly opening weekend.  See you soon.
