Well,
The results came in and it looks like she has a stage two tumor, but they did remove everything that was there so far. Investigating other treatment options, but the statistics are saying a 42% chance at her surviving two years. :-(

Make every day count, however many she has. Today is all that any of us are guaranteed, anyhow. I have an older dog whose days grow short, and every one we have together is precious to me. My heart is with you and your lovely girl.

We took Jessee to the University vet clinic. They said that she has a less than 20% chance that there are any potential cancer cells outside the area they removed and there's a less than 10% chance that it spread to her lymph nodes or anywhere else. Just to be certain, she has a bone marrow biopsy, lymph node aspirations, and an ultrasound tomorrow...what a way to spend her birthday. Unfortunately, we found a lump on her ear, they are going to check it over, but according to the doctor, it felt like a cyst, which is common in one of the breeds that is in her funky mix.

Once we get those results, we'll find out if she needs more surgery or any other treatment. Hopefully the tests come back with no spread. They said that there was a 60% chance that she is cured right now. Thanks for the prayers, they have definitely been helpful.

Continued prayers are sent your way!
I have been in that situation. They told us, our cat, at that time age 2, wouldn't make it with her cancer. After loosing the leg, they said her life-span was limited. Well, after she jumped out of a 2nd floor window, into snow.... :o...she had kittens and lived to be the ripe old age of 14!
Keep the faith and I am praying for you all!

Jessee underwent all of her tests yesterday. Poor little girl has a pretty funky hair cut with all her belly fur missing, a random rectangle on her side, fur gone from one of her legs and a random circle on her chest.

And the long awaited results...all tests came back normal. No cancer spread or anything. It was recommended that we put her through one more surgery on her side...there will be a bigger nastier scar, but it will ensure that there is nothing icky out there that could potentially cause regrowth. Aside from one more surgery to fret over, Jessee is doing well! And the lump we foud on her ear...just a cyst.

Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts. They really do work! :-)
