I moved out to Seattle this past fall and am in the process of planning my trip back during Fest. I was looking at the dates this year, and noticed that it seemed to be running later than in previous years. Did they add another week? or is it starting later this year?

Also, last year I came out for Fest Friday, met a few of you, but slinked off into a corner being that I hardly know any of you.I felt like it was the first day in a new school, and I didn't know anyone.  A problem I plan to rectify this year. I may end up having to buy a round or two to do so...but I've lurked the forum for so long, I feel like I know you guys without ever really getting to know you. :) Here's hoping we can share a mug this year at the Stein!

For sure!! Make yourself known, LOUD and CLEAR!! Alcohol tends to make us all somewhat deaf...  :D

Fest is starting a week later this year.. I think I heard something about doing this so the last weekend will coordinate with the Harvest Moon..

Looking forward to seeing you!!

A few years ago management figured out more people attend fest after labor day, so they decided to always have labor day weekend as the third weekend out of the seven.

I was told this by management.

This means KCRF is only 1 weekend offset and some other shows no longer have the 1 weekend gap.  But MN's participants now have an extra weekend to prepare, so this might be good for us.  Colder, darker, and less 'warm weather costuming,' though...

Speak for yourself buddy, you don't have to check passes at the end of the day in the dark and stay up all night wandering site in the fridged dark.  October runs SUCK for night crew.
