Lack of knowledge definitely and now we have knowledge and done we still indulge in harmful, deadly things?

RefMom3

So, the more things change, the more they stay the same?

Lord Argyl of Lochdubh

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are---
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

RefMom3

But isn't change the constant in the universe?

Lord Argyl of Lochdubh

doesn't mant things affect the universe
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are---
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

laedyfaire

Isn't change sometimes a good thing?

RefMom3

Won't one's perspective influence that answer?

Lord Argyl of Lochdubh

wouldi you say perspective is important to only the person having it ?
We are not now that strength which in old days

One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

RefMom3

Well...if you were about to give me a swift kick, would you say the only important perspective is yours, because you want to deliver a swift kick, or mine, who would prefer to not get it?

laedyfaire

if you were to get that swift kick, would your new found perspective initiate a revenge kick?

Lord Argyl of Lochdubh

We are not now that strength which in old days

One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Lord Argyl of Lochdubh

forgive my infraction of the rules. would you believe for a moment I forgot what we were talking about?
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are---
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

laedyfaire

I do so believe because many times I have to recheck myself because of forgetfulness , so does that make 2 forgetful players here?
