I'm not sure if I asked this already or not. So here goes...

Has anyone seen or heard anything about a proposed maze at MIRF? I stumbled onto a model of it at the NetherCraft website a few weeks ago. It looks like it would be awesome!

Here's the link: http://www.nethercraft.com/labyrinth_model.html

Jon.

Edit: Sorry for the messed up link!

renfairephotog

That is wicked.

This is the first I've heard about it but I hope they do build it because it looks very interesting!

That is really awesome. I, too, hope they build it.

It would be fun eh? The company proposing this is the same company that built the the vendor booth in the far back left corner next to the stage...

Interesting, kids will love, they need more to do.

Acually, kids of all ages will enjoy it. I know I will  :D... if it is built there.

This was proposed several years ago. I remember seeing the model in the office back when I auditioned, way too many years ago.

Thumper

I would love to see something like this.  Kids and adults would love something like this.  Although, with the way the grounds are it would eventually become a mud maze.  LOL!

Hey, there is NOTHING wrong with a mud maze. :-P

You know that would be a good idea. You know in front of the Dueling Bucket Stage and Dragon Swings, there used to be a small maze, made of large wooden walls, and as a child that was fun, and I've been in a corn maze, and believe it or not they are more challenging and fun than one woudl think, especially at night. The neat thing was it was designed with a Pirates of the Carribean theme so all the mazes were of a pirates face, a ship, and the words. And hints were given if you answered poseted trivia questions properly, and this allowed you to get through the maze easier. So Huzzah! to a maze to be built at faire. I say get to it man.

L Dale Walter

There will be a maze, but not the Nethercraft one.

Or so I hear, from the guy building the maze, so not just rumor.

darkranger

I remember the old maze it was really fun, can't wait to see the new one!   ;D

Well, maybe the maze I posted a link to is too costly. Sealclubber remembers seeing it a few years ago so maybe the idea was too much, too big, not enough return on investment or something along those lines. Kind of a bummer though. A maze that cool would have been so sweet! A view from above would have been cool too so you could watch people getting turned around etc.

Jon.

Poldugarian Warrior

You know what Jon, your view from above idea is good, and I know other maze owners have thought of it, because the corn maze down by Monroe off 75 has platforms so you can watch. Yeah, that'd be cool. I just hope they do make it.

Well first haven't been on in a long time so hi every one.
But just got the brochure for MIRF and in it it says "NEW ~ Castle Maze"

Along with Us/Canadian arm wrestling championship
Return of Vulgarians
Bocce Ball tournament
Horseshoe Tournament
Knights of Iron (of course)
And a couple more items.

AnyuBoo

Mazes are always fun.  (Not sure if there was one at MIRF after all or not...I was only able to go Opening day this year and didn't have all THAT much time to look around.)  However, when I think of a Labyrinth, my mind always conjures up an image of the labyrinth from the movie of the same name.

Now THAT would be something interesting to see, especially if there were a few characters from the movie inside...some to help, others to hinder a bit (Jareth would a bit hard to get right, though)...

I can imagine, however, that it would very likely be a bit pricey...
When everything seems to be coming your way...
...you're in the wrong lane!

From what I saw, there is a maze in area 51 (57? whatever ).  I didn't go into it, though.  It's near the back on the left if you're walking into there from the jousting yard.

Jon Foster

I think it's a buck to walk through...

Jon.

Captain Cornelius Howard Duckman

Area 51, a buck for a walk through, 2 bucks to be able to go through all day, not bad at all.

Poldugarian Warrior

It's not all that large, and it's quite easy to get out of, more for children.

Thumper

My niece and nephew loved the slide towards the end of the maze.   Was pretty much the only reason they even went through the maze.  :D

Poldugarian Warrior

There was a slide, I missed that part. But, who am I kiddin I'm too old for that, besides I had my garb and gear on.

That didn't stop the Ladies in Waiting.  Very funny yo see them come out the bottom of the slide with their skirts over their heads!

Shoot! I should've been there for that alone. Maybe next year.
