The Troll and Ms. Taarna the Ice queen aren't going to make it to TRF, alas I'm deployed in Iraq, so throw a party and have a good time

Hold on, I don't understand why there are deployments to Iraq when Obama has declared the war was over. This isn't right.

Whatever the issue, please be careful and safe and come home soon. My best to you sir and Thank You for your service.

you know, as well as I, that when Barry opens his mouth, turds fall out.  All this means is that our troop won't collect combat pay anymore... while still getting shot at.

I have 2 of these and they are spectacular.

I also have one of these except mine is different colors(older model I think).  My hubby and I LOVE it.  My hubby has put it up by himself before, but I would definatly suggest having 2 people.  It is a very popular tent, I see them all over the place in the campgrounds.

As for the tent waterproofing ... what product do you all use?  Is Scotchguard sufficient or is there something more heavy duty?

Sir Martin, try something like Nikwax, since it's made especially for tents.  Here's some info on how to go about it, as well...

I use Kiwi's water repellent spray.  It works well, and is fairly easy to find at places like Academy, Cabela's, Walmart, etc...

I'm wondering if Labor Day might be a good day to search for deals on a tent. I like this one, Coleman Sundome 5, and really like the price.  I'm not 6'1" like Dracconia, but definitely want something with a center taller than 60".

I have the previous model of this one.

Plenty of room to move around and stand up. Fits 3 adults, cots, and gear with no crowding. Out of the box I had no need to seal it, been in many heavy rainstorms and not a single leak.

I loved the first one so much that when I found them on sale I bought the second for $175. You can't beat that with a stick. They are very easy to set up, even for one person. Yes, it's easier if you have 2 people, but it's still not too hard for one. And the roomieness is nothing short of spectacular. It will very easily hold a queen sized air matress in one room and 2 chairs and LOTS of equipement in the other. Put down a couple of area rugs to hold the cold out and make it a little more comfortable and you have yourself a nice little home at faire.

I would love to find a new one on sale.  We have four cheap rugs that we bought at wal-mart that cover the entire floor and a folding camp table that we put in the front room.

I got mine on sale in the fall, towards the end of the year, after "camping season". So I would start watching Bass Pro, REI, Gander Mountain, etc for their end of the year sales.
