I thought you were going to be at Scarby for opening weekend, Crashbot, but I never saw you... I've met quite a few of the folks here. Not a dud in the bunch.

I was there, about an hour after opening!

We all have aspects of ourselves that would cause us to stand out in some crowds... but many of those same things are part of what helps us to fit in around here... and that's one of the very nicest things about "here"...  We can usually all have a great time together without making a lot of those useless and divisive judgments that keep people apart.  Not that we're all perfect, but we're mostly all aware of how we've been judged by others, so that reminds us to get to know someone before deciding that we know who they are...

And after getting to know so many of you here... I realize there are very few who I wouldn't want around the fire with me late at night, when the conversation gets weird.  ;)  :D

We could probably even find a seat for Sasquatch...  ;D

We are perfectly imperfect...and that is what makes us perfect. lol... I am not sure if I would camp because I don't know the first thing about faire camping (how lame of me is that?!?!) plus, I wouldn't know anyone to hang out with. Having said that though, I've only been to one meet-up and that was at Sherwood and it was awesome. Even though we were only together for a brief time, that was the highlight of my weekend: being around those that were just like me. I felt at home. *gets all mushy* LOL
*Short enough to not reach the pedals, tall enough for the rides at Six Flags!*

I'm splendid. That is all.

Maeven, you know all of US, and that's pretty much all you need to know about Faire camping!  Well, that, and your equipment list, of course, but there are threads here for that...  ;)  Phoenix Risen can always find room for another tent somewhere in the mix, and everyone is welcome to pitch a few bucks and get fed when Z has the kitchen open.  We're in a pretty relaxed part of the campground, and everyone looks out for everyone else, so you would be amongst friends.  Really, at TRF, camping is the only way to truly experience it all, because it adds a dimension that you just don't get from staying in a hotel.  The friends you make in the campground become Fairemily pretty quickly, and by the end of the weekend you have lifelong friends that you can hardly wait to see again.

I envy the fact that you're already IN Houston, and can see them far more often than I can...  I'd give a great deal to be able to sit around a fire with some of these people right now, even without Faire.

OMFurreakinG, Fraser!!!  YOu totally made me not only choke on my coffee, but my monitor now hates you!!!  Aaaaaaaaahahahahahaha!!!  That. Was. AWESOMENESS!!!

Glad it wasn't MY guitar, though...  :D

Just remember, my remaining sober allows me to A) patch up everyone else's booboos when they get hurt, B) act as a designated driver for a truckload of professional alchies (though I DO regret doing that when it was a bunch of enlisted schmucks who couldn't hold their liquor, and it was the long-arsed drive from Atlanta back to Ft. Benning... oy vey), and C) observe and remember EVERYTHING the rest of you do while blotto :D

My days of doing stupid things whist drunk ended when 1. Went from e4 to e5, followed by 2. When I got out of the Army and finally  3. Met my wife.

I always tend to be the one that, even though I am having fun, looks like I might be 2 heartbeats away from dead.

Well, i take that back...I might SAY stupid things now... (example: Wifes/Girls dropped by the pub during guys night once, just to say hi and then leave, but before I knew they were only dropping in I said something to the effect of "Aw *&^%$, looks like guys night is over now, why are you here?") Later that night I spent a good deal of time removing foot from mouth.

Wait... you know people who get PAID to get drunk?!?  :o  I'm in the WRONG line of work!!!  :D  And there you go, talking about tying folks up with bandages again!  And what was that about boobies?!?  :o

Seriously though, while most of our group talk a pretty good game, we're more often than not the ones who are picking up the drunks and pouring them into their final resting places of the evening, then wandering on back to our tents to get a little rest before getting up in time for the chainmail show.  ;)

I don't mind at all that you don't drink, though, Breandan... I just like to tease you about it.  LOL  Z doesn't drink, and neither does Monte, and they both have at least as much fun as everyone else, if not more!  It's more about the party attitude than the methods, anyway... when folks are intent on having a good time, it doesn't matter how they do it, all that matters is who they do it with!  ;)

Crash... foot-in-mouth can be a serious affliction unless it's treated rapidly... and it comes back unless there are frequent boosters applied at even the first hint of reinfection!  heheh

I remember at least one part of that day very well.  In fact, probably a great deal better than I should...  ;)  :P

Of course, I also remember that at one point you were pouring yourself a Rusty Nail for every one you poured for anyone else, and that was at morning tailgate!  No wonder you can't remember anything past that...  ::)

I've noticed that you haven't been... indulging quite as freely since then, however.  :D

Oh, i drank like a fish at AHE... i can remember Friday night having about a dozen Jager Bombs...six or seven chocolate cake shots... shots of loki (several of each kind)... a few shots of some really good Scotch and about 8 beers.  :o The difference is that i spaced all of that out over a 6 hour period and not 45 minutes. I was still up, Saturday morning, garbed and headed for the gate when cannon sounded... drinking my third beer as i went.   ;)  I may not get paid for it but i AM a professional drinker.  ;D

Wow... I think I'd pay you, just to watch!  :D

Of course, I was there Saturday night, and I'm pretty sure there was a great deal less than that consumed that night!  In fact, it was a pretty quiet evening, with all of us sitting around eating chili and chicken in the trailer, enjoying good conversation and awesome music... and excellent Loki!

Oh... well, I DO remember having faaaar more jello shots than I probably should have, but at least I didn't do anything that I wouldn't want put on youtube!  Of course, if I'd had just a few more... who knows what I might have had the courage to try...?  ::)  LOL
