Last year we made Glühwein and spiked it with Drambuie, good stuff. Although I think that contributed to the fellow ending up asleep in the portaprivy.

I had Bourbon Milk Punch for the first time this weekend in Nola. Good stuff, I think it might be ok warmed up.

Uhhh... Bourbon.. and MILK?!?    I'm trying to imagine... but it's just not forming a picture that is even remotely appetizing!  LOL  Milk tends to curdle when introduced to hard liquor, so it must have some other ingredients that act as an emulsifier, but still...  

Although, yeah... I'd probably at least try it.    

The Glühwein sounds awesome, though!  Did you drink it straight, or mit Schuss?

Well, I have some spiced (regular) cider recipes also, and I'll make sure I have the ingredients along just in case you are, indeed, enceinte at the time!

Cant remember the place I got it, somewhere on Bourbon Street. I usually avoid that part of the quarter like the plauge, but the folks that came with us wanted to go. I usually dont stray past Royal..


As for the Glühwein, I added the Drambiue with the fruit near the end of the cooking process and served in coffee mugs.

Ha, yeah, I've had the "pleasure" of getting a Cement Mixer shot before. 

The milk punch doesnt curdle like that.

Wow... there is nothing but sugar to emulsify that, and I'd be willing to bet it curdles in the stomach...

Oh yeah, I just misunderstood the question. I though you ment did I drink it with a seperate shot by itself, lol.  I've had it served like that when I was in Germany, but when I ordered glühwein mit schuss, they just poured a shot into the cup after they served it. Didnt actually cook it in.

It was really good with Drmbuie though. I will be doing that again.

Dont know if the milk punch curdled in my stomach or not, but I may have washed it down with a few other drinks and diluted it enough to not make me feel like crap.

Also, what is a bloody brain? Ive had a bloody baby and it was most foul..

It's a rather disgusting looking shot with flavored vodka and lime juice, that has Bailey's floated on top, that gets curdled by the lime juice, then a couple of drops of grenadine for the "bloody" effect.  Usually served at Halloween...

Well, I think I'll pass on the ones that look like someone has... already sampled them and found them unpalatable!    But I'm definitely up for experimental recipe sessions!   

I'm still wondering what Glühwein made with Loki might taste like...

Im not sure if its the same thing but I've had a " brain hemorrhage" before and while they look gross they actually taste really good.

I've also had the unfortunate experience of being given a cement mixer and I can honestly say its something I won't soon forget. Blegh!

of course I LOVE shots but drinking mixed drinks poolside (what I'm doing right now lol) is Sooooo nice! Lol
