Spleen was BORN?

I thought he just sort of...appeared.
You know.
Like mold.
Mildew.
Rust.
Fungus.

 ;D
Once Upon A Time............
A lost albatrozz that had one day earlier ate some carrion crow, flew o'er th' black festerin' moldy forest, an shat inta th' forest. Th' shine landed upon a fungusted, rusted, molded log. Many months did past an th' fungus interacted with mold, shine, moisture-logged termited wood. They all did almost decompose. but before that could occur th' sun shone bright one hot sumer day, and a bubblin started to take place. And from that bubblin' fermentation, rose up a form of  a "wretched disposition", of an un-noble cause.
This "wretched disposition" was brought up by worms  where it learnt to crawl in low form.
before long it sprouted appendages where it was then taken in by an cared for by the rodents of unusual size. It became their RAT KING. But one day upon yet another future time, it was caught by the Kingdom of Alamatez, and thrown into the dungeon bowles of the city.
A great flood extricated the city bowels out to sea, and the "wretched disposition" was saved by the flood and washed out to sea.
This entire process could have been called the incubation, natures natal gestation, slaggin', hatching, birthin', of:

Look what happens when I don't check in for a day...Happy Birth Day, Spleen, hope you spent it in wondrous vice and dissipation!
T'was aczually a birthday I shall never forget.
I was at th' Santa Fe Spanish themed ren faire.
My amusement and diversion came in the form of being greeted to perform onstage as "Dungeon Spleen and Friends", with our very own Zoe as Fritzie the Fairy, and Francisco Antonio Del Mar, both from their home faire of CoRF. We did some Pirates of Parrot Tea skits fit into one continuos show. We had mind reading, politics, dancing, singing, site gags, lost parrots, green tea, feathers, flirting and a fairy drenching the second day! Two shows, and Talk Like a Pirate Day was this weekend of my Natal Hatchling day.

Thank you all for the wishes, razez and roasts!

and a fairy drenching the second day!

2 weeks later and I'm still laughing about that.  We couldn't have planned that if we'd tried.  I wish more people had seen it, because it actually was quite funny.  In fact, in one of the pictures that the good Baron linked to, there's the three of us up on stage, and I'm looking down at the ground...I'm faerly certain that was taken either moments before or directly after the water came down on my head.  (It had poured down rain for a good 20 minutes about an hour before, and all the water had collected in those streamers above our heads...one of them let loose and dumped about a gallon of rainwater on my head during the Spleen and Friends show!  Too funny.)

A perfect way to round off the Capn's birthday...maybe the universe was planning ahead for putting out the fires left in his ravaging wake?  And just missed a little?

This is the pic, btw...

If you look closely at the photo, you can clearly see that (a) Fritzie is dry, and (b) there is a substantial quantity of water collected in the streamer directly above her head.  And we already know what happens next!   ;D

Aha, you're right.  Must have just been in the moments that it started to drip upon me.  I felt the drips and took a small step to the left--avoided a direct hit!

I still think it was aiming for Spleen...

Sounds like it was a wonderful day and good times had by all, as it should be.
And a happy (and very much belated) birthday to ye, Cap'n. I was involved in my own celebrations on that weekend, as you know, and we are just back from our honeymoon. But I remembered you on your day - just didn't have a way to send it until now. Many happy ones! Tip a tankard on me!

Just glad we didn't have a cake with candles would have been a forest fire

Forest Fire? I thought it would put off more heat than a sun going Super Nova... and more light :)
