Title: Casino...
Post by: chainsmith on May 13, 2014, 11:41:14 AM
While I do not live in Tuxedo this does affect me and the other Faire lovers who frequent the event every year.

Has anyone else heard any news on this?

That is a hell-uv-a note.  That site is fairely permanent with shops, pubs, etc.
It would be one tremendous project to move it if they could even find a suitable spot to move it to.  People better get used to it, when casinos move in they will displace anything that is there.

Oof, that's lame.

If you dig through their FB page (https://www.facebook.com/nyrenfair) for their comments, they repeatedly say that they plan to stay put. So that's good..

For anyone who missed it, the casino proposal was rejected; see this article (http://www.northjersey.com/news/new-york-casino-license-board-votes-no-on-orange-county-casinos-opts-for-catskills-bid-1.1160990) for more.
