Title: Character name assistance
Post by: Awen on June 19, 2009, 08:32:27 AM
MrAwen wants to become a rennie - he had such a good time at the Ravenshire Festival last year that he has decided to become a Welsh longsbowman (I think that's what it's called).

I would like to help him come up with a name, but being female I have NO idea about what sounds good or interesting. He's of English descent, good sense of humor. Any thoughts on how to proceed? Thanks!

I like www.babynames.com . You can search for names by nationality or region (I know Welsh is on there) and there are articles for writers on how to choose names. Maybe that will help you get some ideas.

Here are a couple of good sites with lots of name info:

Scroll all the way down on this one for Wales:

As a writer I use this site to create interesting names of all sorts.  There's definitely something here that will help you.
