And while they are at it, they just might as well just remake The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, Patton, The Lord of the Rings, Close Encounters of the third Kind, and any other classic movie out there.

I say NO

MTV SUCKS any way now days. MTV does that stand for Movie Television? It's sure not Music Television anymore.

Some things are best left just the way they are...How could they possibly improve on the original?  Part of it's charm is it's moment in time.  *throws rice*

BLECH. Why is MTV even bothering with a musical? The "M" sure as hell doesn't mean music anymore. They should just stick to their lame reality shows and forget about this.

Exactly, the "M" surely doesn't stand for music anymore.  I watched MTV religiously when it first came on the air.  JJ-Jackson, Martha Quinn, Alan Hunter.  MTV was *cool* back in the day.  Not anymore.

Ok Rocky fans, This Is It!

We are making our stand. Over 15,000 of you have signed the petition and there are at least 900 friends of our MySpace site. It's time for MTV to hear the voice of the fans. This Saturday is September 27th, the 33rd anniversary of the original Rocky Horror Picture Show that we have all come to know and love. Countless fans will be going out to midnight shows. What we at the site want to do is get videos of you and all the RHPS fans you can gather to do the "Time Warp" on that day at Midnight at your local showing, or in some public space (please don't break any laws) ... or hell even outside MTV studios if you want to.

In case you're wondering:
MTV Studios
1515 Broadway
New York, NY 10036

We will post your video and your pictures on our website and on the Myspace page. Hold up a sign for stoptheremake.com or just one telling MTV to leave Rocky alone. Be creative. Together we can stop this travesty!!! Viva La Rocky!!! Save The Lips!!!

Why can't they try to improve their own shows before they try and screw up a perfect movie.

Fellow Rocky Horror Supporters:

In only four months, we have gotten over 20,000 signatures on the petition! We have received support from a few celebrities as well. But MTV tells us they have no plans to stop the remake. It's sad, but true. But at least we were all able to stand together and let them know that we cherish the original. We'll keep gathering signatures until that damned movie comes out.

Speaking of such atrocities, have you heard that Amanda Palmer (you may know her from the Dresden Dolls) was chastised by her record label for having too fat of a belly for her music video?!?! If you know who Amanda Palmer is, you know that she is an amazing, unique, perfect arist. And corporate bigwigs want to tell her how she should look? That's like telling Tim Curry he should look like Zac Efron!

Well some of the fans started a reBELLYon at www.therebellyon.com where supporters of Amanda Palmer and lovers of all shapes and sizes can post pictures of their bellies in protest.

I recommend that you all head over there and take a picture of your lovely tummies for Amanda Palmer. Tell 'em Riff Raff sent you :)

Viva la reBELLYion!!!!

the only reason my belly isn't there is because the computer at home is kaput and I don't think that is necessarily 'appropriate' workplace behavior... :P

Remaking Rocky Horror is just wrong, wrong, wrong....look what they did to Willy Wonka, and that was even in the very capable and talented hands of Tim Burton...with MTV 'producing' it I'm sure it will be every bit as craptacular as every other thing they've done in the past 15 years...
